As in really happy. [Smile]

I just finished a chapter in my novel that, for some reason, was like passing a kidney stone to write. [Wall Bash] Whew!

I will be getting it ripped to shreds this week, I'm sure, but for now I am on cloud nine! Wheee!

[Party]

So, anybody else wanna celebrate something that makes the happy?

My friend found a very important, sentimental book that I lost last May. I found out today. Whee!!!

I'm happy that I can come here and read (and occasionally participate in) discussions about issues in which both sides are presented intelligently (for the most part) without it degenerating into a name-calling contest (for the most part). This is a marvelous departure from any of my previous experiences.

Go Hatrack! [Big Grin]

I'm happy that you guys are happy [Wave] . I am especially happy that I, too, have a copy of Chapter 6. Now I need to find a quiet place to read it.

I am also happy that I have a reason to use this ===> [Group Hug] .

Olivet, I just finished reading the copy you sent me and it's GREAT. [Smile]

Happy B-day Sopwith and happy impending B-day Q! [Party]

I'm gay today because I've gotten to chat with Paul for 5 hours in the past 36 hours and, hence, feel very, very spoiled. [Hail] to the person who got them those computers. [Big Grin]

Olivet, are you in one of the Hatrack writing groups?
or another group?

My happy thing is that i scored on some sales yesterday. i bought a pair of "Earth shoe" sandals that were 100 bucks, and I got them for 40. My feet are a mess, and I have to wear inserts, but these sandals are great on their own.(cuz, try fitting orthotics in sandals)

Elizabeth- I am in a Hatrack writing group, or rather, a Hatrack writing group that was together over a year when I joined it, and ended up being bumped off the site. [Smile]

But the folks on this forum who read my story (a longsuffering lot they are) are those who asked to see it after I posted a thread begging for vailidation. [Big Grin]

Olivet,
I am also in a group that was "kicked out" of Hatrack. It was my "It is Our One Year Anniversary!" post that did it. Kathleen said no more group after a year. So, we stayed together anyway. it has been two and a half years.

[Party] I'M HAPPY [The Wave]

My car insurance company just called. They finally got to the bottom of my problems!
For you newbies the progression of events went like this:

February) Totalled my car on an icy road on the way home from a dog show. Traumatized the dogs quite a bit. Had to ride Metrarail to work for about a month.

March) Signed car over to insurance company. Insurance company was great. Got money back for equivalent value. Got new vehicle, a fully loaded 99' white Chrysler Town and Country Limited, perfect for dog shows.

April) The calm before the storm.

May) Recieved two parking tickets on the old car from the City of Chicago. Additionally recieved a notice of impoundment ordering me to pay $500. The car was impounded for solicitation of prostitiution .

June) Insurance company sends me salvage documentation (but it is all from the state of TX where the company is located), I send it on to the City of Chicago, the ticket division and the impoundment division. The ticket division sends me notice that I am not liable for the tickets
(Also in June, buy house, have emergency gall bladder surgery 3 days before house closes)

July) The Chicago impoundment division sends me an official notice saying my proof of non-ownership is insufficient. I get on the phone with my insurance company (a bit unhappy) and they send me more stuff to send to the Chicago impoundment division (it is still state of TX stuff so I don't know if it will work or not but at least it helps me stall them.)
(Also in July, come down with mono that I likely caught in the hospital when I had the gall bladder surgery)

Last Friday)I get a notice from the Secretary of Sate saying that I need to renew my vehicle registration on the stupid car that I no longer own. I get extremely upset and call the insurance company AGAIN and ask to file a complaint or talk to a manager because the root cause of the problem is that the paperwork was never filed to get the car out of my name. I mention the possiblilty that I may need a lawyer, that I've had an extremely rough couple of months personally and I really don't need this complication in my life right now.

Today) I get two calls from the insurance company, one from the guy I talked to on Friday and another from his supervisor. It took them three days of constant work to get to the bottom of things. They got the same run-around internally from their own salvage department that I had gotten before.

They finally located of the Illinois sub-contractor that effed up and the contractor was like, oh no, we haven't filed the paperwork yet. (I'm betting knowing the sleaze that goes on here, they weren't planning on filing it either, because of the expense unless they got caught. There is only like a 30 day window to file the paperwork normally.)

Anyway they are sending me the Ilinois proof of sale and I should have it by the end of the week. I will have to take it into the Secretary of State's local motor vehicle office myself, but the actual paperwork is being filed as well. And, I got a nice apology from my insurance company.

So... maybe just maybe this is the end of it.

I'm holding my breath for the next shoe to drop but at the same time cheering that at least it is the beginning of the end!

Elizabeth... That is so funny! I had been moved into the group after I met almsot all of them at Uncle Orson's writing class. I joined about six weeks before they gotthe boot. [Wink] We have a yahoo group now, and we're all scratching away at novels (ever so slowly) so it seems a decent fit. I'm also a member of the online writing workshop for scifi fantasy and horror which is pretty cool.

Sopwith... were you asking to see it? Be warned, some people seems to find it shocking. [Dont Know]

My mom has started remodeling my room three weeks in advance. It is big and has good light, so she's turning it into a studio. In twenty-seven days, I will be a guest in my own house.

I don't know if this makes me happy or sad...

"we're all scratching away at novels (ever so slowly"

Ha ha. I am up to Chapter Six! (two and a half years...)

One of our group members is, we hope, about to be published.

If you ever want to trade stories(novels) give me an "e": edob63@yahoo.com

Not many people other than my group have read it, and it is nice to have someone read it straight through, instead of just as it develops.

That last sentence confused me even more than the fact that there's a NUMBER in your name instead of an O...

Let's see reasons to be happy today, or at least in the near future:

1) I earned $15 today by babysitting the neighbor kids (not much but I'm excited)

2) 5 days until I (finally) get the braces off my teeth [Big Grin]

3) 16 days until I leave for college...dang I need to get packing

4) and only 28 days until my birthday. [Party]

lol. Actually. There is a story behind that. *watches as everybody either flees the room or zones out*.

Anyway, it was a letter awhile ago, but it originated as my hotmail account and I didn't check. So I lost the account.

I came back a few months later, decided i wanted one and put a zero there instead. Hey. It works.

Squoose is letting me work today (so why am I on Hatrack you ask). Anyway, usually his first two naps of the day are 30 minutes each. Today his first nap was 1 1/2 hours. His second nap was 1 5/6 hours. He is currently 35 minutes into his third nap (although it looks like it might be ending soon). Each of these naps has been in the crib. Yay to not having to wear the sling so far today. This makes me happy.

On the up side, I now remember what book it was. I had left my scriptures at my friend's new husband's family's house when I went to Austin for their reception, and she got them back to me. They were my mission scriptures, so I really was thrilled to get them back.
