I don't think you will, though.

Sorry, guys. You can't rush a countdown like this. You'll just have to tune in tomorrow for the exciting continuation!

But don't worry—there's no flatulence involved.

Jon Boy, if this actually goes on for 10 days, it will give me plenty of time to hunt you down. Then no one will ever know what the countdown was for. [Smile]

*gets it*

9 days kayla, he posted a 9.

Posted by celia60 (Member # 2039) on :

oh, and jon, we'd better not see you here posting a 0!

Posted by Kayla (Member # 2403) on :

celia, I could just as easily hunt you down.

*lightbulb moment*

Yeah, no, that lightbulb is burned out, too. [Wink]

Jon, I may very well show up when it hits zero. I'm at least trying to.

And due to distance reasons, I'm not going to make -7. [Wink]

Oh, good grief. That would make a memorable wedding story. *horrified*

I was actually just trying to remember when the big day was. Thanks for the reminder Jon Boy.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Well, Pat did tell us that we'd be old and farting in front of each other in no time.

Posted by Ralphie (Member # 1565) on :

Wow - Is it really so soon?

No wonder we haven't seen Ruth much lately. I have a feeling she's doing all the work, neh?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

No, actually, she was out of town for four weeks, and now she doesn't have internet access unless she goes to the library. So there.

One of my best friends is getting sealed in Portland on the same day YOU'LL be getting sealed...So because I'll already BE at this wedding, I'll think of you and Ruth. I hope you have a great 6 days. [Smile]

I take my car in to get looked at from that accident about 2 weeks ago. They are going to get me a rental car till it's fixed or they come to a conclusion. I wonder if they insurance agency would spring for me to drive around in a Mustang. I also wonder, if they did, would I get to drive around in it till past your wedding.

Not that it has to be said, but I would so love to pull up in a Mustang to your Open House and just say "Ya, I'm cool."

I really doubt they'll give you a Mustang, T. When my roommate's full-size truck was wrecked, they gave him a Chevy Cavalier.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

I rented a Mustang from Priceline once for $15 a day. *remembers fondly*

Won't this be happening on the same day we do "Wierd Al" in Illinois.

What a better reminder of your upcoming nuptials.

Wow, Jon Boy, you must be driving yourself mad with this countdown.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Yes, but it's a short drive.

Posted by Papa Moose (Member # 1992) on :

Doesn't have to do that, otherpop. Mama Squirrel and I counted down for around 4 months, and look at me now!

Oh.... Ok. Forget I said anything.

The countdown is probably worse on virgins.

(I don't know who here were/weren't virgins up to their marriage date, so I'm not commenting on that.)

You should've done the count down in radians.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

What was that conversion factor for radians and days? I can never remember that one.

Posted by popatr (Member # 1334) on :

2pi radians might be one day, depending on how you figured it.

Ie, the earth spins 2pi radians in one day.

Or if you go by a clock it would be different.

You could base the ratio on the high temperature for the day, in degrees. You'd have to decide whether to use fahrenheit or celcius/centigrade, though.

What if I prefer rankines?

Posted by ak (Member # 90) on :

Oh, Kelvin is the way to go!

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

Rankines are not degrees. Since they're easily convertible to degrees this doesn't pose the same problem for radian conversion as, say, days, but it's in the same ball park.

[Edit: ditto for Kelvins]

Sheesh, Mr. Engineer, calm down! I didn't say that rankines are degrees. Save your rant for another day.

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

Dude, I was just pointing out that choosing to use rankines as the intermediate step in converting days to radians introduces an unnecessary level of complexity.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

We're talking about measuring the time to my wedding in rankines. I think it's already unnecessarily complex.

*scratches head*
[Confused]

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

Actually, we were talking about measuring the time until your wedding in radians.

Posted by celia60 (Member # 2039) on :

Pops, feel free to correct me, as you know this isn't my strength.

Assume:

(1) you will be married for the rest of your life. (not that i would dare assume otherwise)

(2) you have lived only 28% of your life ref.

That works out as 18/25 odds that you will be married on any given day. (For every random 25 dates I pull out of a hat, 18 will be days after you're wedding day {not that I think you needed that explained}). Or, if I pulled out a single day, I have a 72% chance of pulling out a day you are married. Today, there is a 72% chance you are married.

Congratulations!

[Party]

Of course, life expectancies for women are longer, so you aren't as married as DD is.
