You know, my roommates and I have a rule that when one of us gets kissed, she has to buy ice cream for everyone else.

That's definitely a rule that prevails at BYU.
M&M's for holding hands the first time with a guy, ice cream for the first kiss.
Then there's always the steak dinner for an engagement, but I haven't experienced that one yet so I don't know if it actually happens. (Maybe next year one of my roomies will get engaged, and I'll find out if it's real. )
I have gotten lots of M&M's and ice cream as a result of these rules though.

We have the same rules, jenny. I was explaining them to our guy friends one day, and one of them asked, "So what do you do when you come home and your roommate is dishing out banana splits?"

That's great! Oh, how I love the rules...
Hey Ruth, did you give your roommates a steak dinner?
