(Sigh. I guess I'll have to wait 40 years 'til the price drops into something I can afford.)

Designed for kids, but at a price made for adults. Heck, I'd buy one if I had 15,000 lying around.

For the same price, you could buy an MC-12b and LX-7 from Lexicon. No contest in my mind!

Were I in any way rich, I would buy one. Unfortunately, the prospect of me having 15 grand to waste anytime in the future is not so good.

It takes about $300 to build a better machine. Haven't a clue as to why anyone would pay that $14,700 extra.

aspectre... willing to build me one for that price?

Plans for homemade hovercraft can be found all over the net.

What's the point of owning one if you can't be the 15,000 dollar envy of your friends?
Edit: Note to self, log out of screen name.

aspectre, you didn't see all those designer colors?! Ooooh! Pretty....

But just imagine it...A security guard on a hover craft. If that's not intimidating I don't know what is.
Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :
That is a very good idea. Security guards on bright yellow hovercraft.
Intimidating, but not terribly practical.

He He He.... Ralph the Guard on a Hovercraft?

I suddenly got a mental image of a squad on the hover crafts and those things with 2 wheels, a plat form, and a handle thing.

I'm sorry, but a hovercraft that looks all SPACE AGE TECHNOLOGY! is just cool.
I'd buy one if I had fifteen thousand dollars to toss in a fire on a cold winter's night.

the physics teacher I worked with this past year built a hovercraft for 35 bucks. And the kids friggin LOVED it.

Paul, if you could get me a "recipe" from the teacher, it would make me very happy.

Unless it can travel up to 25 miles an hour, its a piece of junk. I say we all chip in like... 100 bucks and buy a community one, one that I get first dibs on.
