GREAT NEWS!!
"Don't blame me, I voted for Bill 'n' Opus."<--ratty T-shirt I've lugged around for 13+ years.

Y'know what? I can't really express how cool that is. I think I'll dance. *shakes groove thang*

I hope it's good; I wasn't all that impressed by Outland.
Still, Bloom County is definitely in my Comics Pantheon, so I'm willing to give anything Breathed creates a chance.
(The other comics in my pantheon are Calvin & Hobbes, The Far Side, Pogo, and Krazy Kat. There are lots of other comics I like, and I could see Get Fuzzy eventually entering the Pantheon, but for the moment I limit it to those five.

Get Fuzzy has some of the funniest comedic drawing, but that man just can't write a caption to save his life.
I don't find a dog with a watch funny simply because he has a watch.
He needs to find someone write his story-lines and captions for him, and simply do the drawings, which could be comedic gold.

It's about time the best Comic Stripper in history put his laptop aside, came out of the cave that is his La-Z-Boy, and delivered some more of that razor-sharp political silliness that was Bloom County.
Woohoo!!

Really martha? You feel that Breathed's cartoons are superior to Bill Waterson's? For me Waterson occupies the top position, with Walt Kelly, Berke Breathed, and George Herriman all tied for second place, and Garry Larson coming in third (a strong third though).
Misc. piece of cartoon advice--if your newspaper carries both The Family Circus and Marmaduke, try swapping their captions. You'd be surprised at how often the Marmaduke caption actually makes sense with the Family Circus panel, and how often it's actually kind of funny.

What kind of sick mind reads Family Circus? And let's not even talk about Marmaduke.

I know Storm! It's sick, sick, sick, but I used to be virtually unable to stop myself from reading every comic on the comics page--even crap like Brenda Starr or Mary Worth!
Seriously, though, if your paper carries both of 'em, try swapping the captions. Maybe 1 time in 10 it'll be hilarious.
