Elizabeth Turner!!!

Or...

I remember reading about 2 females who pretended to be guys to be pirates, and both were on the same ship. And blood thirsty pirates they were. How about one of those?

All kidding aside, I'd research into the 19th century pirates in the China Sea. You would need to look at Chinese translations of English epithets such as "Castration Sally" or something.

Here's a neat fact pulled from the net on the lady mentioned to get an idea of the names:

quote:
Cheng I Sao (also known as Ching Yih Saou, Ching Shih, and Lady Ch'ing). A former prostitute who married a sea robber, she and her husband organized a confederation of pirates that eventually numbered over 50,000.
These people were serious! Also remember that piracy is almost as old as Man's first venturings upon the sea. You have a vast amount of time to play with.

I look forward to your story!

i would go for the pegleg one, but that's just inviting people to sing pretty peggy-o and i think i get enough singing as it is.

annie may have the winning name. it's just beautiful.

bok, i think you'd do better as bluebeard. [Cool]

Dan, #4? why don't you just call me Jon Boy's mistress? or would that be miss little cabin boy?

Annie has a nice sounding suggestion, but I thought you wanted a new name?

I thinks I'll run now.

Besides Dan, does she really want her pirate name to be what her husband cries out in the night? [Eek!]

Posted by celia60 (Member # 2039) on :

actually, that is a point in its favor. we don't have to remember a new name...

Okay, you've caught me.

I am, however, relatively concerned that obligatory Ralphie references must involve the word "dingle."

I'm sorry, that obligatory reference smilie was separate from the dingle comment! In no way did you remind me of the word "dingle"!

(Dingle, he he.)
