Most likley there are people on your local subnet (nearby on the network) who still have Welchia (the worm that sends out a whole lot of network traffic).

Make sure your machine is patched as well (you wouldn't necessarily know). Go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download the critical updates if you haven't yet.
