31,000 flavors.

What'll it be?

I also give free psychological consultations and personality readings a-la-Bob

Moose tracks please. I can't understand why more people don't like Moose Tracks.

A big scoop it is for peanut-buttery little Sarcastic Muppet, whom I shall never refer to as SM. Sweet and a bit nutty, she's everything you could hope for in a confection.

And don't forget those chocolate cups full of hidden goodness!

Could I have chocolate, with chocolate sauce, and crushed chocolate sprinkles?

And some lemonade to go with it?

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Death by chocolate it is for Elaine.

*squeezes some fresh lemondae*

This is going to be fun to watch.

I like Moose Tracks too. Recently, however, I am a fan of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food.

I have been thinking of a flavor using my Hatrack name. Possum Paws? Might work. Scaley Tail? Never.

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

I've got the perfect idea-

One scoop of Whistlin' Roadkill for Possum.

(It's my own secret blend)

Posted by Possum (Member # 2549) on :

Hmmm. What is in it???

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Thanks, Annie! Where are the spoons?

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

and a rambling irrelevant story to go with that:

Recently I was standing in line at Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone Park to get some of the "famous" overpriced ice cream. Most of their flavors are pretty prosaic standards - from strawberry to butter pecan - but they do have one innovative flavor: Grizzly Berry.
I was joking with my friends and told them I didn't reccommend the Grizzly Berry unless they really liked venison. It's not the stringy chunks that are so bad, but it's just the whole pseudo-pemmican flavor that throws me off.

My friend Abby noticed that an antsy tourist couple behind us were looking uneasy until a lady leaned over to them and whispered "She's kidding." [Smile]

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Sorry - all we've got left are sporks.

It's a genuine Southern blend - pecan and a molasses ribbon with a hint of sweet tea and some nice chunks of cornbread, Possum.

[Eek!]

Ok, Annie, tell me what flavor you recommend as a dessert for a frozen mexican style dinner? Now, be careful, this gourmet level stuff we are talking about here.

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

A frozen mexican dinner is best accompanied by (contrary to what the City Slickers connaisseurs would have you believe) really dark chocolate sorbet - Chocolate con Agua, that is - sprinkled with cinnamon and cayenne pepper.

*scoops up Kat's very gourmet choice. Sprinkles with cinnamon for good measure*

*serves up Ryan's coffee ice cream in a chocolate-dipped waffle bowl with chocolate covered coffee beans on the side*

*hands Ryuko some Mount Olympus carmel fudgecup goodness*

And here's a napkin.

And a glass of water for the after-icecream water craving

I'd have to say this group has good taste. I have Phish Phood and Moose Tracks in my freezer right now, along with Mint Chocolate Cookie.

I think I'll have a scoop of something I can't get here. Got any Raspberry Cheese Louise?

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Some super sinful drippy fudge brownine for Kayla.

No more for you, Possum - you have to drive home and I don't want to see you in the ditch covered in tire treads.

And some cheesy raspberry goodness for PSI - with some fresh raspberries on top.

Posted by MattB (Member # 1116) on :

Some fragola.

Plus a lump of mint chocolate chip, the flavor of my youth.

And a waffle cone.

Whoo! I'm four years old again! And in Italy!

Now Annie, dear. I want two scoops of dark, rich chocolate gelatto with splashes of Irish Creme and real whipped cream. Topped off by a nice green cherry. I think that we should call it a U2 Delight. (It's smooth with a blast of Irish flavor mixed in... kinda like their music.)

Oh... I forgot the slivers of almond topping. Can't forget the nuts [Big Grin] .

Sporks... they'll save the Universe ya know... along with a good roll of duct (duck) tape.

*Chocolate soda for Dan*
Yeah - I interned at Ghirardelli's.

*A scoop of dark chocolate with white chocolate chunks for Damien, a scoop of Creme du Menthe, in a pretty parfait dish garnished with fresh mint leaves*

And today's sample special - tangerine ginger sorbet!

Cayenne pepper with chocolate ice cream? Are we in Pakistan or something? I can't imagine a place where they would eat something like that.

Tonight I am in the mood for a double scoop of vanilla to go in a root beer float.

Posted by Maccabeus (Member # 3051) on :

I like Death by Chocolate. Could I get a couple of scoops?

Also some advice on how to keep from beating people who disagree with me to a pulp...

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Chade, what are we going to do with you?!? Vanilla? (head in hands) Well, at least we have some "Wild Mexican Vanilla" made with pure sugar cane and local cream. But if you're going to mix it with root beer, I insist you take it outside first.

Maccabeus - I am all over Death by Chocolate. And I'll throw in some Belgian Chocolate Truffle for good measure. And here's the advice:
I reccommend getting your full daily allowance of pulp, thus preventing you from craving it elsewhwere. *Adds a crushed tangerine to chocolate ice cream* See - pulp in, no pulp out.
And breathe deeply.

I've actually seen Cayenne Pepper used in some chocolate desserts. It's spiceyness is supposed to enhance the taste, especially on dark chocolate.

I love pulp... orange pulp, lemon pulp, grapefruit pulp, lime pulp. It's all good for me.

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

One scoop of Pulp Surprise for Larisse.

And I'll testify to the power of cayenne and chocolate. Since I started making my own candy a couple years ago and invented my "Chocolates That Bite Back," I have at least 27 new best friends.

Watch the movie Chocolat if you doubt the idea of spicy chocolate!

Annie - I thought you were giving us your "interpretations" of what our ice cream favorites said about our personality!?

I'd like either Dulce du Leche or Honey (only ever had this at Marble Slab Creamery in TX/LA).

note: need "yum" smiley to insert here

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Perhaps something like this?

Posted by Dan_raven (Member # 3383) on :

I do a different take on Chocolate and Hot. I drop some chocolate, darker the better, in my Chilli recipe.

However, salt and sweet go great together. I would like a Peanut Buster Parfait, but with good ice cream, not the DQ Squirts, and lots of salty peanuts.

Posted by Chade Fallstar (Member # 5581) on :

I don't suppose me asking for a scoop of chocolate chip and a coke would make Annie any happier with my boring choices?

If that won't work, I could use a roast beef sandwich with lettuce, pickles, black olives, and swiss cheese.

Can I have a big scoop of pineapple sorbet (like they used to have at Thrifty)? I've been craving some all week. [Frown] Maybe my mom and I can figure out how to duplicate it....

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Alright KEGE - it is your lucky day. I've been really excited about honey for the last couple days for some reason, so I've mixed up just for you a batch of honeycomb ice cream; honey flavored with inexplicable crunchy bits and instead of granulated sugar, I use big crystals of raw sugar. It makes the ice cream sparkly.

And your penchant for the smooth and sweet does indeed say quite a bit about your personality. You've got a flair for the exotic, but you're also quite refined and you have flawless taste in matters of high culture. You're witty and quick, but suave enough to never come off as obnoxious. You really enjoyed Mr. Rogers's Neighborhood as a child [Smile]

For Chade it's a scoop of Chocolate Chip; nothing prosaic about it. He's a fun-loving, down-to-earth type of kid with a secret unexpressed love for all things Norwegian.

*hands Chade the ice cream and a coke in a classic glass bottle*

And if you're in the mood for a good sandwich, I'd reccommend Tony Caputo's, right down the virtual street about 3 blocks on your right.

And for Ludosti, a nice big serving of pineapple sorbet served in a frozen half-pineapple like it comes in Mexico. Garnished with mint leaves, of course.

She's also a high-class babe, but also a lover of tradition; she also looks great in khakis, a feat which few of us can successfully pull off.

Posted by ludosti (Member # 1772) on :

Awww - the sorbet is perfect and I love the half pinapple bowl!!

Posted by Chade Fallstar (Member # 5581) on :

All things Norwegian? I sure didn't see that one coming. I think the factory where I used to work sent some stuff to Norway, that's about as close as I've come to something Norwegian. Weird.

I didn't say my readings were accurate.

Here - have some chocolate syrup on that.

Posted by Chade Fallstar (Member # 5581) on :

I think this is false advertising or something.

Thanks for the syrup.

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

No, you've definitely got secret Norwegian love going on. Maybe you just don't know it. Go buy yourself a troll.

Posted by Chade Fallstar (Member # 5581) on :

Unfortunately, the troll store here went out of business last month. If I wanted a troll I'd have to order it online or something. That sounds like too much work.

Just wait around here, Chade. A troll will show up sooner or later...

Maybe with my next scoop? Hmm, let's make it mint chocolate chip. It's an old favorite of mine.

Posted by Dan_raven (Member # 3383) on :

Reading? I didn't even get my second ice cream. [Cry]

PS. Want a troll? Build a bridge. A troll's natural habitat is underneath a bridge.

Just don't have any of those cruel and devious billy-goats around.

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

Did I miss an order, Dan!?! Ever so sorry. What'll it be today?

For Rivka - I've got something even better - Montana Moose Moss. It's a tangy mint ice cream with chocolate mint-filled cups and a fudge ribbon. I think it's best eaten in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone. *hands it to Rivka*

And you gotta love the chocolate mint girl - she's spunky and witty and quite the tease. She's also highly fashionable in a quirky sort of way, and secretly collects Star Wars pez dispensers.

ooh - Boon, here's my favorite European treat that I enjoyed once in Carnac, France and didn't shut up about for days:

One scoop of guambara (a really dark chocolate gelato) and one scoop of noisette (hazelnut) - it's like frozen nutella, but richer.

And this, of course, demonstrates your intensely female qualities. You're sultry, suave and confident and not a little mysterious. Plus, you have nice hair and never got caught up in the "hammer pants" fashion craze.

Alright - for Elizabeth is my closest approximation to Mystic Mint. I, too, was saddenned at its loss, but it appears to have gone the way of Wavy Gravy. Dommage! And I knew you would be asking for something like this, since you have always struck me as the socially conscious type. You dress conservatively and vote liberally and find yourself at home in the solving of moral dilemmas. You also have a strange quirky admiration for something involving buffalo, but the ethers are a little unclear on that one.
*hand Elizabeth a frosty dish*

I claim no responsibility for the Russian ballerina debacle. Apparently the surgeon general's warning on my packaging mis-translated somewhere. It probably has something to do with my inability to type even standard diacritical marks, much less the cyrillic alphabet, on my keyboard.

*Packs a to-go pint of honeycomb for KEGE, and hands a cone to Rivka* Inexplicably attractive, no?

And for Chade it's Casbah Cream - an almond icecream with chunks of halvah, discreetly flavored with coriander and sprinkled with bits of sesame seed brickle.

And we all know what that says about your personality...
You're trendy and unadventurous and watch a little too much American Idol [Evil]

And for Erik (my best customer) - how about some Mexican Lime sorbet that is just as good as a margarita with none of the worries about amoebas in the ice.

Dan - here is your classic peanut parfait
*hands it to him in a tall glass with a really long spoon*
Real, hard vanilla ice cream, and real chocolate sauce. None of this chocolate-flavored syrup garbage. And I dug up and roasted and salted the peanuts myself. [Smile]

You do, of course, realize that this choice makes it obvious that you're the kind of guy who will subscribe to a new newspaper because the old one was folded the wrong way. You also enjoy long walks in suburban neighborhoods, fireside poets, and grilling things. And all of your socks match.

Grrr.
Maybe we should write to Ben and Jerry's about Chocolate Mystic Mint.

When I went started college in Vermont, there were TWO Ben and Jerry's stores in the world, and you could only get the ice cream in Vermont.(1981)
It was cool to watch them grow.

Ah, my mind is eased. I was beginning to wonder if my constant time spending on hatrack was causing my parents to forget I existed...I see completely the word similarity...no need to fret!

Oh, I was wondering what a (metaphorically speaking) Mint Potatoe Chip eater's personality is like?

The first one had me spot on, but I must admit I'm not a big fan of japanime.

You have a contract with Jamba Juice? I could sure go for a Berry Lime Sublime Smoothie about now...

Chocolate con chile. Definitely.

If you come back tomorrow, then we know you're a die-hard.

yum Annie that Salty Margarita thing sounds good! I'll have one of those too tonight.

And while we're on salty ... I'd like some Praline (praw-lean) ice cream today with plenty of salty pecans (puh-cawns) - that you've hand shelled yourself of course!

[Razz]

Not only did I shell them myself, the tree grows outside my bedroom window and I hand-picked them all while sitting on my bunk bed.

*hands KEGE the nutty confection and the margarita glace*

Hmmm... I guess you'll find a way to eat them both.

And Muppet - sorry, no chain store affiliations for me, friend. I will, however, whip you up something limey, raspberryish and frappy.

*hands muppet a big frosty glass of sticky berry lime goodness, blueberries thrown in too for good measure*

Thanks Annie - it looks great!

Procrastination can be a terrible thing! What've ya got that'll get ya up and going?

Okay, Annie. Could you whip me up a Mango Sorbet with a mint sprig on the side? I could really use a tropical refresher right about now. Ooo.. could you place it in a fancy martini glass? That would be nice.

*wanders over to the lounge chairs on the beach and lays down to gaze up at the stars as the sound of ocean waves lull her to sleep... well to relax anyways*

Whoa - sorry, missed a couple orders there. (I gotta stop falling asleep on the job.)

A little Uber-Mocha sundae for weezy (that'll not only get you up and going, but keep you up and going for a good couple weeks)

For pajeba, it's pineapple and lime sherbert - served in an umbrella (how's that?)

And for our dear larisse, a minty mango martini.
*has the cocktail waiter carry it out to the beach chairs*

Annie, saxon74 designated me the Queen of Ice Smoothing, so I guess I'm working for you now. Do I need to order more chocolate sauce?

Why on earth would you listen to that charlatan?

I need some coconut ice cream (with a few peanuts on top). I ate some at my favorite Thai restraunt on Monday night and I'm hankering for some more. I even had to scour the web looking for recipes so I can make some at home, but I haven't bought the ingredients yet...

Okie dokie... Annie, I want pumpkin ice cream sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs and real whipped cream. Use toasted slivers of almonds to make a face on the top like a jack-o-lantern. Tis the season.

Hmmm... I wonder, do you happen to have some butterbeer or iced pumpkin juice as well?

Thanks so much.

Do you have a flavor specifically designed for surgery recovery? If so, I'd like a small dish of that, please.
