Ahem.

Hello.

*waves*

I am jexx.

Who are you?

*smile*

Heh, well, it just so happened that a couple years back I started writing a book. High fantasy and all the BS. Yeah, I thought it was cool. Anyway, way back then, before I had discovered Hatrack or any sort of forums, weeeeelllll, I gave the name of Jexx to the protagonist of the story.

Back in Sept-Oct I discovered the forums at the Adrenaline Vault (www.avault.com) a gaming website. I decided to sign up and was trying to come up with a good online nickname. I had used Bytorman previously as an online moniker but was really tired of it. So, in a moment of what I thought was brilliant originality I decided to combine Jexx (since I think he is just such a cool character) with jester (as I like to think of myself as having a sense of humor). What came out was Jexxster. I signed up and started using it. I became quite attatched to it and started using it at other sites I signed up for. Back in June when I visited Hatrack I noticed the forums, and, on a whim, signed up. Jexxster was accepted as a valid ID. I will admit to not bothering to look at the lists of members, afterall, I thought Jexx was a creation of my quite unstable mind, and that Jexxster would be even more original.

Sorry about that. I will change it if you insist, though I will sorely miss the name. [Cry]

Gee. I assumed you were jexx's husband. [Blushing]

Nevermind.

Hehe, jeniwren, that would be funny! Except that I have it on good authority that mr. jexx has taken to wasting all his time on truck forums, posting pictures of his new mistress. [Wink] I don't think he's got time to post to Hatrack.

Jexxter, I believe mr. jexx took over their computer shortly after she posted, but I doubt she'll want you to give up the nick. [Smile] I believe she was just saying "hi" in her own way.

Lead! When we going to a movie? [Smile] I want to see Intolerable Cruelty. I'm already secretly in love with the Coen brothers.

Hey, girl. Damned near any time would work for me. I just finished up that contract stuff that had me so busy, and I'm currently playing catch-up with my freelance clients. But that means my schedule is pretty flexible, since I'm working from home.

I'm about to head for a nap. It was a long night last night (long story, but I was up til 4am helping a friend through an emergency), and the news of Cash's passing has sort of just left me drained today. I've got a poker game tomorrow (Saturday) night, but other than that, I've got nothing on my schedule for the next few weeks.

Dang. I hope everything is okay with your friend, and this does seem to be a bit of a bummer of a week. This weekend's pretty booked for me, too. How about Monday, then? [Smile]

I'll call Sunday.

Posted by Lead (Member # 918) on :

That sounds great. I'll talk with ya Sunday.

(My friends will be fine. Thank you. It was a pet-related emergency, and Frankie Cat didn't make it, unfortunately. They are saddened, of course, but will in time remember the fun, loving, vibrant cat he was, rather than the poor injured animal we rushed to the vet last night. But enough of that, now, in jexx's thread.)

And now, off to get a bit of sleep. Yay to seeing a movie next week!

Someone recently signed on as "Deirdra," causing my pal "Deirdre" to make a few subtle hints to the affect of the n00bie maybe getting a new handle.

To no avail, of course. [Smile]

Deirdra generally stays on the other side of the river, though, and my bud Deirdre only posts on this side. It hasn't been that big of a whoop.

(I have to admit, I thought "Jexxster" was jexx's handle when she lost her password. ^_^ )

Yes Lead, get your own damned thread. *shakes fist at Lead* And get offa my lawn!

*grin*

No problem, Jexxster, it gave me kind of a laugh when I read your name, that's all. I was pretty sure no one would confuse you for me, because you talk about your wife, and I think everyone's pretty clear on my gender/orientation (het. woman). Mostly, I wanted to alert everyone that you were not me, that's all. I don't post very often (comparatively), so I wasn't sure anyone would notice at all, really.

And for the record: I don't post by any other nick, it's hard enough to keep track of the two identities I have (IRL: Jen, online: jexx). *smile* Oh, and if I lose my password, I will just panic and give up and email kacard and get it back. [Smile] I love this forum.

Hi to Jexxster! Welcome to Hatrack, stay a long time, keep your name. We have two Saxons, after all, and everyone seems to be able to keep them straight!

Oh really, fool...

And, for the record, we don't have two Saxons. We have a Storm and a saxon.

When I saw Ralphie had registered "Toni" as a screen-name, I thought it might be cool to register "Phil" and use it occasionally.

Someone has registered Phil however! I'm fairly certain this member has never posted, or I would have remembered, so who has it?

Is there any way to find out with the search or something?

Phil, I challenge thee!

Xav,
It doesn't do any good to challenge someone *within* someone else's challenging post, you have to post your *own* thread.

*mutters about people taking over her thread*

and get offa my lawn!

I thought Jexxter was jexx at first until he started being all male, then I wondered if jexx was a transsexual now or something then I finally realized it was a noob. <laughs> Welcome, Jexxter! I will try to keep you two separate in my mind.

wait a second, jexx is a woman? [Wink]
