Personal theory:

Check out Pat's birthday thread. He requested love and got it, which led to JB requesting love. Saxon shot him down like a Christmas turkey with absolutely perfect timing. Coupled with saxon's recent funny streak, the opportunity to praise saxon and torture Jon Boy (which happened beautifully) at the same time was too much too resist. Celia and Jon Boy posted their threads at almost the same time, which set off the war. The adulation threads struck a chord, and it just blew up from there.
