I didn't get the chance to stand on anyone at the recent Boston Hatrackian picnic, but I wanted to share some circus tomfoolery with you all.
Last month, Mike and I attended an intensive circus skills workshop (five students, two coaches). I have several clips of things we learned. The avi's are in divx format and are between 1-3 megabytes each. I'll list a few of my favorites if you'd like to just pick one or two to look at.
Here I stand on Mike then flip down to the ground.
*** And for those of you who can't do movies at all, but are still interested, here are photos of some trapeze improv.
I hope some of you can poke around.
Muff Muff.

I would but I don't have broadband.
(muff muff?)

I have broadband, I'm just too lazy. ^_^

Tsk tsk, Damien, you're missing out!
That's really cool... next time we have a gathering, you guys *must* show off for us. I insist!

Heh, Myr. I promise the next time you come to juggling, we'll do cool stuff =).
And if you dress appropriately, you can learn some trapeze
(For those of you who don't have broadband, I have photos of some improvisational single point trapeze.
So, no excuses now!

"muff muff" is akin to "ttfn." In Suneun-ese. Don't worry, nobody really knows what she's saying unless you talk to her in person.

Though I have to say that "muff muff" is relatively new, as far as these things go.
The most common ones used to be "moof" and "meep" - but I haven't actually heard them in a while....
Sorry about missing out on the Boston Hatracker shindig, by the way - I was feeling *bleh* in the tummy.

The Evolution of Muff:
beep -> meep -> merp -> moop -> moof -> muff
It seems that every 8-10 months, I'll switch. I don't usually do it consciously. Beep was sophomore year, Muff is the last year or so.

I'm trying, and very interested, but I can't connect... I want to see the movies...

I only get the sound. Which is interesting, but weird. If I didn't know what was going on, I'd wonder about you.
Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :
So sad. I get the video and no sound.
Mebbe I'll convert one of the files to a different format so people can satisfy my insistent pushing =)

Whoa. Those rock, Suneun. You guys took to it really easily, it seems.
btw - I'm still completely convinced that Mike is, in reality, Chris Kattan.

Is Chris a local friend? or someone famous I should recognize?
Nifty Nifty.

Sweet! Was the whole workshop outside? You're lucky, it looks like the weather was nice.
So far my slooooooooow internet isn't liking the movies but I'm waiting (im)patiently for them.
