danka once was thrown at me by a history teacher as an acronym for 'dont ask nobody knows anyway'

but in this case, i thought it was german for 'thanks'

Thanks in German would be Danke. Danka (in addition to the acronym), is also the name of a company which is in the printing / publishing business (actual printing, or they distribute printers) I believe.
