I'm doing a few newspaper design seminars there tomorrow, would be free for lunch and random burninations.

Posted by Head Ditch Digger (Member # 5085) on :

I'd love to, if you buy the airplane tickets.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

What time? I'm free from 10 to 11 and after 1.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Lets see... I get out of class at 10, and I have work at 2. Sorry dude, don't think I'd be able to be there long enough to have it be worth it. But you never know, I may change my mind before I go to bed tonight.

Of course, I could just say "Screw Astronomy, we're only learning the mysteries of the universe."

Hmmmmm, actually, that does sound rather tempting to skip. Give me 'till tonight to decide.

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

It'll have to be after 1. Actually, after 1:50. My seminars are in WSC 3223 at 11 am and 1 p.m. Lunch is from 12:00 to 12:50 in the garden court.

Where is the WSC?

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Looks like it's the secrets of the universe instead of lunch with Pat.

Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :

The Wilk. It's the building with the BYU Bookstore, the cafeteria, the ballroom, etc. On the east end of campus across the street from the Law building.

I'd love to meetcha, but I don't think I can get out of work.

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

Oh, I know good and well where the Wilk is. I spent 98 percent of my life there back in the early 90's on the fifth floor.

Well, T, you're missing out. I was buying lunch.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Pat, if I could escape work, I could. However, as we all know, AOL doesn't care about anybody.

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

It's alright Nathan, I know you don't care for my company... it's ok.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

::smack::

What I meant was AOL doesn't care if I want work off to have lunch with you. Of course, I care for your company... well... ok, actually, its the free lunch. But that's not the point!

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

I was having fun with you. I understand the limitations of work and school and all. You're a good boy.

And the offer for free lunch is only extended to Jon Boy. You think I"m made of money?

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

I'll be free after one, after my arabic class. Can't your generosity extend to a poor, unmarried college student?

Pat, maybe you should bring Darrin. Maybe he could help sarcasticmuppet with her problem.

Good point.

Our little bro just got off a mission. And I have it on good authority he's looking for a wife.

What's his email again?

Posted by Head Ditch Digger (Member # 5085) on :

"whycantifindacoolname@" the rest I cant remember. I have in my address book on my home computer.

Posted by Diosmel Duda (Member # 2180) on :

Could you wait until three? My last class gets out then. How long are you going to be in the area, Pat?

*seriously considers ditching Intro to Folklore*

Posted by Head Ditch Digger (Member # 5085) on :

DD, you're already married we're trying to find a wife for our little brother. [Big Grin]

It puts a whole other meaning to the title of this thread.

Well if my husband's going, I want to be there. Besides, Jatraqueros are cooler than folklore. I hooked up the last time we got together in Provo, remember?

Been there, done that . . .

He is the impartial judge. We can't have him commenting on the marriagability of single females, with his wife present.

*note: I am kidding*

I can't wait til three, I've got a date with my wife at 4:30

Well now, see, that is what I was thinking when I read the title in the first place! I wondered what the heck Patrick was doing trying to hook up with anyone!

That would be breaking the honor code, Kayla.

Duh.

(sigh) I wish I was going on a date with my husband.

I'd love to hook up at BYU tomorrow... or any university really.... see if it's true what they say about college girls in the ads for those "Gone Wild" videos... [Evil]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

If there's one place it's not true, it's BYU.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Although The Rabbit was mentioning something about the makeup habits, this is generally true.

Posted by Papa Moose (Member # 1992) on :

I'll admit to wanting to Dobie this with "Anyone feel like hooking at BYU tomorrow?" but I was unable to find a suitable link in the amount of time I was willing to spend on the pursuit.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Jeez, all I wanted was a free lunch. Well, if all I get is an RM out of the deal, I suppose I can live with that. [Wink]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

RM = ?
real man? romantic minion?

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

Not even close.

Posted by Zalmoxis (Member # 2327) on :

I don't know about that, Pat. Or at least in my case, the 'real man' one is true.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Returned Missionary

By the way, I'm only kidding about the snagging an RM thing. I'm only eighteen, y'know.

'only' 18? Why you're six months away from spinsterhood.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

*lightbulb flashes over head*

OHHHHHHH! Duh. Thanks, sm.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

And it would totally be against what I stood for by coming to BYU. I swore I wouldn't come here just to get my MRS.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Yeah, that's what every girl says.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

sm - it's okay. They just need swirlies. We (and you) know that you're there to learn. It is okay if you happen to get married along with getting an education, but it isn't a requirement.

It is freaky, though, isn't it? Learning to date by dating wife-hunting RMs like learning to play poker with $1000 minimum - great if you start off with the perfect hand, but horribly nerve-wracking nonetheless.

But, SM, what if you've seen that smile, somewhere before?

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

what do you mean?

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Seen Saturday's Warrior?

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

There's a girl in it who has a writing/dear john relationship with a missionary, gets engaged a few times while he's gone, is free to meet him at the airport, and then falls in love at first sight with the convert her missionary brings with him - the convert being the guy she promised in the pre-existance to wait for and marry on earth.

At the airport, they hold hands and twirl in a circle in slow motion while their love song plays.

If you do that with Pat's cousin, I will pay big, big money for pictures.

That scene, is such bullcrap by the way. It makes me sick to watch it.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Hey! I'm free from 1:00 until 3:00...maybe I can convince Damander too, and we could both come! [Smile] I'll (or maybe she'll) get back to you when she gets back from class tonight.

Still wondering what you mean by this, Trog.

So we're looking at 2:00 at the Wilk? Will we enjoy the fine dining experience that is the Cougareat?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

SM, that's a line from Saturday's Warriors.

*is amazed that a BYU student didn't recognize that quote*

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

I've seen that smile somewhere before.
I've heard your voice before.
It seems we've talked like this before.
Sometime, who can be certain when?
But if I knew you then,
It's strange, I can't remember...

Feelings come so very strong
Like we've known each other oh so long

The circle of our love...etc. I'll spare you the rest.

<---Pathetically, knew these words of the top of her head.

Nasty aren't they?

Pat, why can't you do it until 1:50? You said your thing ends at 1:00

I lived in a mormon-minority area. Sue me. [Big Grin]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

So where exactly are we meeting?

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

That's true, the Wilk is pretty big.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

...and crowded.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

...with mormons.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

What? [Angst] Nobody told me there'd be Mormons there.

Posted by Zalmoxis (Member # 2327) on :

The Wilk = taco-salad-in-an-edible-bowl central. Or do they not serve those anymore?

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Don't ask me. I'm not blessed with a Dining Plus meal plan.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Is it me, or do those lyrics remind anyone else of the song Where or When?
quote:
It seems we stood and talked
like this before
We looked at each other
In the same way then
But I can't remember where or when

The clothes you're wearing
Are the clothes you wore
The smile you are smiling
You were smiling then
But I can't remember where or when

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Trog's seminar is somewhere on the third floor, neh? We could meet in the mezzanine above the food court where it's not so crowded, outside the computer shop. Is that considered the third floor? I forget.

Posted by flyby (Member # 3630) on :

HOLD ON!!! So what are the details in this dealy? Because I so wanna meet people, now that I'm finally so close to fellow hatrackers. I have this study thing at 1, but it's only for a half hour, so will you guys still be around at about 1:40pm? In any event, if tomorrow works out, we should so try to do something another time. I LOVE HATRACK!!!

Seems like we have a lot of interest but not any planning. The third floor in front of the computer store sounds good. Damander can't come unless we start at 1:00. If we started at 1 and went to 3:00 (or whenever people need to leave) I think everyone could come at some point. What do you think? It might be hard for latecomers to find us in the mass of tables. Any ideas (non-embarrassing [Wink] ) on how they could find us?

(Oh, and I have to leave for class in about an hour and a half, but I can check back when I'm on campus, too.)

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

My last class today ends at 1:00. I have nothing to do between then and 1:50, so if you want to meet in front of the computer store then, that'd be fine with me.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

same here. Want me to hold a sign or something?

Posted by Diosmel Duda (Member # 2180) on :

I'll be there at 1:00 too.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Well, me, Damander, Jon Boy, and Ruth have all met before, so if you think you can recognize one of us, I think you'll be fine.

See you all at 1:00! [Smile]

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

I've never met you all. How am I gonna recognise anyone, or vice versa?

Posted by flyby (Member # 3630) on :

I won't be able to be there at 1, but I'll be coming at about 1:30, or a little later. I'm gonna be carrying an Ender's Game book, so if the group of you see me, be sure to say something to me. I'm wearing red pants and a white shirt too, just as an FYI, and I think I remember some semblance what some of you look like from my look in the hatrack album a while ago. Hopefully I can find you guys. Laters!

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

I'll be at a nearby table doing my Arabic homework and I'll be wearing my BYU hoodie.

I couldn't find anyone. Saddness...we have to arrange to meet again, because I so want to meet people. You don't know how excited I was to think I was gonna meet some Jatraqueros. Anyway, so yes, again this next time, I will actually find people. I have decided this must be so.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

We were looking for you, flyby. Sorry we missed you. [Frown]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

[Frown] Yeah, it's too bad we missed you. We were keeping an eye out for you and your white shirt and red pants, but we never found you.

But hey, that just means we have to do it again sometime! [Big Grin] Tell me when, and I'll be there as long as I don't have a class.

Were you guys right outside the computer store? Aww..this is major saddness that I missed out on. I looked all around for you, and I was like holding out my copy of Ender's Game so it would be obvious that I was looking for you guys. Oh well, definitely have to do something another time.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Yeah, we were sitting on the floor outside the computer store (there weren't any open tables). We went and got lunch downstairs at 1:00, but we were back upstairs by 1:30, so I don't know how you managed to miss us. [Dont Know]
