I'm wearing my Raggedy Ann costume because I never get an opportunity to wear it and I thought you folks might appreciate it.

I am also about to eat all of muppet's hummus.

I only thought it appropriate to don my alter-ego in honor of the other professors around here.

Hi folks! [Wave] I'm from Western Kentucky!

*peers at the humus* What are we going to be planting?

(I believe the food dish is hummus--though what "hummus" is I don't know. "Humus" is soil. [Razz] )

KarlEd: [Kiss] Where's that screenshot we've been waiting for?

Hello, my name is Hobbes and I work in a button factory. One day my boss came to me and... never mind. [Big Grin]

I'm from Colorado, but am attending university at Purdue in West Lafayette Indiana.

I'm Megan, and I'm originally from Atlanta, but I'm in Bloomington, IN, getting my Ph.D. at IU. Having announced that, I am now obligated to at [Taunt] Hobbes.

(But I really don't care...sports aren't my bag, and Purdue doesn't have a music school. [Big Grin] )

ETA: well, it has a music department, but not really a music school, per se. [Dont Know]

Megan: you'll find there's a handful of bloomingtonians on the board who would love a real life get together. I am currently not one of them (I'm in Saint Louis right now), but I return to Bloomington upon occasion, so I may squeeze into such a shindig myself.

Posted by littlemissattitude (Member # 4514) on :

Hello, my name is littlemissattitude...I'm in Central California. Just so you know, everything you've heard about Fresno is probably true. [Razz] This time of year, about the only thing to do is watch them roll the raisins. Whoopee.

(And Megan, we should get together some time...)

I think Kama gets the prize, NOT! [Wink]

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Yeah, hailing you from the exciting city of Portland! *waves flag*

Megan, I'll have to get you in touch with a friend of mine out there at IU. He's doing grad school out there and it's kicking his butt! [Big Grin]

Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :

Kama gets a prize, just cause she inspired this thread. (Here's your prize, Kama. It's a handy-dandy teleportation ring to use whenever someone is holding a get-together that is too far away.)

However, to win the "coming from farthest away" prize, you have to prove that you are coming from the farthest away.

Hobbes: What screenshot are you talking about??

Posted by Kama (Member # 3022) on :

[Kiss] Thank you!

And how do I prove I'm the farthest away?

Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :

That's a good question. Largely it's a joke 'cause it begs the question, "farthest away from where, exactly?" I mean, is Poland really any farther away from Hatrack than, say, Utah or Baltimore?

Posted by Kama (Member # 3022) on :

Yes. [Razz]

fugu: Good to know! [Smile] if there is a Bloomington get-together, I'll be there.

Raia: Hello! Stop by the music library; I live there. I have a cot.

Narnia: Grad school here is also kicking my butt, I must say. Probably something I should mention in the grad school thread, though. [Big Grin]

[Wave] to all the Bloomingtonian posters!

Hi. I'm Patsy, the faithful steed of King Arthur. I live in medieval England and have these coconuts, which were brought by an African swallow from a tropical island somewhere out in the south Pacific.

Do I win the prize for furthest away? I had to come through *time* to get here. My coconuts are almost worn out.

Hi, I'm from Greensboro, NC and still haven't met OSC.

Closest to the source, farthest from the knowledge. The story of my life. [Big Grin]

I'm from New Zealand. I think I should get the prize. [Razz]

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

Well, now - it all depends on where we're measuring from, don't you think?

Posted by tonguetied&twisted (Member # 5159) on :

No. I just think I should get the prize. [Taunt]

Well, I'm BlueJacsFan, and I came from Columbus, Ohio. I brought a pizza casserole. Is there someplace I can warm it up?

Salutations! My name is Jenny Gardener, and I run a tavern in an alternate Middle Earth. My date tonight is Boromir, Son of the Steward of Gondor, and a doughty fellow. He's got a lovely polished horn. He gives good bear-hugs and is always ready to have a good time.

I've brought some of our best ale and Bilbo Baggins has asked me to share some of his excellent Old Toby pipeweed with you.
