You missed the plural in your title.

You have no idea how disoreinting it is for me when you call eslaine "Elaine". [Angst]

For the record, my name is Elaine, and it always throws me off when someone else is called that. I've very rarely known any other Elaines - although my last semester at university, it was fun to drive my Bib lit professor crazy when myself and the other Elaine in the class sat at the same table. [Smile] He'd call on "Elaine" and we'd both smile sweetly and say, "Yes?" [Evil]

My name is Kira and my best friend's name is Cara. We had almost every class together in high school and teachers would always call us by the other's name. Our senior year English teacher called both of us some hybrid of our names and we never knew who he was calling on. We would both either just sit there or both answer at the same time.

Yeah, I saw that picture of Elaine at foobonic. Your husband does look a lot like Michael J. Fox, y'know?

I have never met anyone with my name.

I'm taking a Mandarin class, and sometimes the teacher hands out a list of everyones' English names and we fill in our Chinese names instead of roll call. I noticed that there's a girl who shares an English name with me. It's very disconcerting.

I haven't met the girl. And I keep on forgetting to notice who the teacher's talking to when he calls on her. I guess my Mandarin's not good enough to place the spoken name with the written. I need to work on that.

Speaking of similar names...
There is someone at my school, one of my friends, who shares the same name with me, is also left handed, looks somewhat similar to me, is also interested in computers, and various other similarities. It is actually almost frightening. [Eek!]

(peers) Hmmm... I suppose you can't derail a thread that never had a point in the first place...

In my choral group, we are 8 with my name (2 alti, 6 soprani and I'm soprano). You can imagine what happens if somone tryes to call one of us... [Roll Eyes]

I live with another Lindsay.
Phone calls are confusing. People just don't seem to understand "Which Lindsay would you like to talk to?" They just say "Lindsay." "Yes, but which one?" "I want to talk to Lindsay." "There are two Lindsays here; which one do you want to talk to?"
It can be very frustrating.

There are three Samanthas in one of my classes...never had that happen before. My professor get a little confused, seeing as the clss is mostly online and we only meet once a week.

At one point there were 6 Mike's working in our office, which only had 15 people.

There was Mike Gill and Mike Bills.

There was also my brother Mike, and my wife Cindy, so using last names was difficult too.

Finally, one of our operators, who works with us to this day, has the same exact name as me.

There are three Kristinas in my hall (about seven rooms in all... and the other two are roommates) and three Nathans in my studio (about twenty people in all). Funny how these things end up.

Edit: But geez, that's nowhere near the insanity of 6/15 being Mikes with three same last names and two similar full names O_o

I was one of four Rivka's in my HS class. We mostly used first and middle, but some teachers just said "Rivka" and let us guess to whom they were speaking.
