Dear Hatrack...

My family and I will be moving into our new permanent residence this Thursday. This being the case, I can finally send off another care-package for Paul (Black Fox here on Hatrack). I know we did this once before just after he was deployed but I'm asking once more if anyone has any messages they would like to send over to Paul and/or the troops in Iraq. They've been there for a very long time now (8 months in Paul's case) and though things started to wear on them awhile ago, I thought it might be better to send something now when the troops are a little closer to coming home (just 4 more months for my Foxy!). He's been gone long enough that many of the newer jatraqueros may not know who I'm talking about but there it is just the same.

Also, if you'd rather not post messages, email me (my address is in my profile) and I'll just print them off without reading.

Anyway... Thanks a million and then some!

I want to send a message!!!

Hi Paul! AK tells me you're from MN, so I'm thinking you might be suffering in the heat. Therefore it might make you feel better to know that it's FRICKING COLD HERE... Seriously. It was like 40 degrees fahrenheit here, which wouldn't be bad except that it was raining and windy all day. If you're coming back in four months, that'll be... (does math in head... very slowly) February/March. You can catch the last few months of coldnitude, and maybe start missing Iraq... ^^;;

But seriously, keep it up over there. I can't imagine how tough it must be. I'm sure you can't wait to get home. Keep yourself safe, come back in one piece. See you soon!!

Just heard about the most recient helicopter crash... and the six dead from the 101st. Do you know if Paul is alright? I'm hoping that he is and my thoughts are with the 101st and the families of the soldiers whoever they may be. [Frown]

Good to know. How does he seem, morale-wise and all that?

He is well. Very tired and ready to come home, but strong and well. [Smile]

Paul,

Thanks.

(I can't think of anything more to say. I know I can't say anything less. Please pass this around to all the soldiers there. Trust me, its from almost all of us safely worried at home.)

Dan.

Paul,
You are doing great things, and will continue to do great things when you come home.
Always in my thoughts,
Amira

Morgan, do you know if amazon can deliver to the army base in Iraq?

Amira, I will take the liberty of answering your question. When you mail things to Paul in Iraq, they go to an Army Post Office here in the states, and from there the Army transports them to him in Iraq. So Amazon should be able to deliver to the APO address which you probably have. There is no UPS or anything like that going on inside Iraq now. If you use Amazon from the states, and they use the regular U.S. post office, I think that works. UPS actually won't deliver to an APO address.
