Yeah, I got to see this when I was in Boston for the weekend. One of my friends is a Bruce Campbell fanatic, and I have to confess I liked Army of Darkness. So, we went to see this movie since it was showing only a half hour from our 'gathering'. I liked it. More than I thought I would. I went expecting only to humor the movie with a 'not bad', and pretty much file it away.

If Bruce Campbell has a niche for acting (other than Ash anyways) Elvis could well be it. Particularly an elderly Elvis. Yes, the move does play on all sorts of off-color humor and physical gags, but you could almost, almost, take it seriously.

So, has anyone else seen this yet? Or am I really that far off the cultural mark?

Lucky bastard. [Big Grin]

I'd really like to see it, but it's a pretty slim chance that it will come to Rockford. Our artsy theatre up here is run like a dollar theatre but still charges full price, and half the movies that they say they'll be getting don't make it. It's on the list though, so there's a chance.

*crosses fingers*

I really want to see it. I too am a Bruce Campbell nut, but chances are quite slim that it will ever play around here either.

Yeah, well I had to go to Boston to see it, so it's not like it was a local thing. Although, I could have seen it in Dallas, if I hadn't already been headed to the extreme northeast.

I'll probably get the DVD, or at least rent it and watch it again.
