I've been looking at myself very critically lately, and I don't know if I like what I see. I was wondering, and I won't be angry no matter what your response, if from what I have posted on this forum, do you think I am a good person, not a good person, moral, evil, satanic ec.

A Curious Introspector

Ryan, the most I've gleaned from your posts is that you are young, intelligent, opinionated, and now introspective. "Good" and "evil" haven't come up yet, except that you seem to make a good Jatrequero. [Smile]

You do realize that there are an almost infinite number of variables people use to determine "good" and "evil," and that whatever opinion someone gives you about your moral alignment based entirely on a series of interweb posts is pretty much totally useless and based more on the good or bad will of the poster?

edit: Reassessing, I'd say I like your posts.

And CT is very nice.

Yes, you are a good person.

Not unless you take back that butch comment.

mac, butch?

Okay, Ryan, I'll add "crazy" to that list (or if you prefer, "has his very own unique sense of aesthetic judgement"). [Wink]

Okay, the comment doesn't make him evil. But, it pissed me off because he made a value judgement of my entire personality based on my haircut. Because it's short, he says I'm butch, that all women with short haircuts are butch. That's crap. If you've met with (which many have, most recently jexx), they will attest that short hair suits me facial lines and my body type. Apparently, Jexx and our friend Paul discussed me (o_O) and summed up that my appearance and carriage is feline.

...not butch. [Wink]

But it's the presumption that JUST BECAUSE I have short hair that I am butch that I get pissed off. Why? It happens a lot. Value judgements happen all the time based on appearance.

You also flip people off a lot, as well as thump them with a stick. Maybe that contributed?

I'd say that you're a direct, literal son of Satan, and that after you use up this life in self-destructive and egocentric living, your death will be swiftly followed by an eternity of torture in a lake of neverending hellfire for your multitude of sins. Your grave will not be visited, and you will spend your endless damnation in that place where the thirst is never quenched, and the worm dieth not.
[Evil Laugh] [Evil Laugh] [Evil Laugh]

Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. [Dont Know] [Big Grin]

You strike me as a bit of an enfant terrible, but not actually BAD.

Yep, Speed, you're thinking of me. [Evil Laugh]

Ryan, you seem to me to be very rigid in your morals. It seems as if sticking to doctrine is more important than compassion or empathy for you.

But then, as Ralphie so wisely said, anything gleaned from a few interweb postings is just about useless. [Smile]

As I recall, you hold the Bible in high esteem. If you believe the most common understanding/interpretation of it as being true, then no, you're not good (Mark 10:18). Rather than ask what folks think, maybe you should review some of the responses to things you've said, and judge from those. It's easy to interpret any way one chooses in hindsight, but the quick instinctive reaction you received at the time is likely more telling.

Keep in mind which people wrote the responses you're using to judge yourself, though. That matters, too.

The measure of your goodness is in direct proportion to how much money you send me.

Hey, Mack, remember when I saw your pics I thought maybe you were a guy after all? [Wink]

I agree that he judged too quickly, but without more to go on than that hair, well.... [Razz]

Go and read some Friedrich Nietzsche. I don't have a link, but see if you can find some of his writings. I'm sure that will straighten you out on good and evil.....
Or give you a headache. Either or. [Angst]

Instead of good and evil, how about Making and Unmaking?

You have both inside you.
