One of my friends pointed me at this. It's a non-profit science fiction magazine. They're actually in the middle of a fund drive.

It's a weekly magazine that is free on the web. They do pay their contributors if anyone wants to send them something.

I thought that their site looks pretty interesting and the reviews were fairly complete. They have an interview with Michael Swanwick who we've talked a bit about on this board before.

Strange Horizons is wonderful! They're very well regarded, and they have some very good fiction. I'm quite impressed by their balance between more traditional spec-fic and the experimental stuff. I've had the pleasure of getting rejected by them a few times. They pay quite well, so more's the pity. [Razz]

Ideomancer is another good free ezine. My favourites, though, are still Fantastic Metropolis and of course SCIFICTION.

(Shameless self-promotion: this ezine might also possibly be maybe a bit good. I don't know. [Angst] )

I haven't been in Strange Horizons (well, not the magazine) but I've worked with several of the people there, including Ed-in-Chief Mary Anne Mohanraj, and they are good people. For one thing, they're all writers, which helps.

What did you do with them, if you don't mind my asking?
