quote:
Donner was asked about returning to the Lethal Weapon franchise. His quote: "I have the story in my head for a fifth and final Lethal Weapon, but it's all up to Mel Gibson. It would be 24 hours in the lives of Riggs (Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover). The last couple of times I talked to Mel, it really seemed he was interested in doing one more. I really want to put the franchise to bed properly."
WHY? WHY? WHY? Please god tell me it won't happen!

I so loved Leathal Weapon 1 + 2. And even 3 was still good and funny and i wasn't disapointed. And a little before 4 came out I remember being in the theater one day with a friend and saying, "you know, they don't make action movies like they used. I miss Leathal Weapon." And BOOM, another Leathal Weapon movie comes out! And it had it's faults, but i thought, whatever, it's a nice end to the series, and i really loved how they did the credits with the photo album going over the series. sort of how they end Rocky V, and the only redeaming factor of that whole movie is the black and white picture run through of all 5 movies.

But why another one? it's so not necessary. The series is over. Let it die! This news is almost as scary as when i found out about a possible Die Hard sequel with Britney Spears playing Bruce Willis's daughter! [Eek!]

BTW, I think I should mention that Sylvester Stalone was on either Leno or Letterman last summer (promoting Spy Kids 3 [Roll Eyes] ) when he mentioned he was thinking about a Rocky VI.

::whispers to the movie rulers::
Let them die... please... just let them die.

Here's an idea:

Murtaugh is found dead in his bathroom, the only clue a strange amulet left behind at the scene. Unable to identify the amulet himself, Riggs takes it to the Professor Emeritus of archaelogy at the local university, one Dr. Jones, who recognizes it as an object used in Haitian resurrection rituals. With the help of a retired boxer named Balboa, Riggs tracks the object to Detroit, where a smart-ass cop tells him that he's been working on breaking a smuggling ring despite obvious resistance from his boss. Riggs and Foley discover that the ring is actually being masterminded by a creature from beyond the grave, recently returned from space. And they all learn many valuable lessons.

Tom,

Who plays the sassy Latina character with a good right hook?

Dagonee

PS, Bubba Ho-Tep sounds like the perfect movie!
