OK, here are the details.

I do not currently own a cell phone (have resisted with all my might)

I do not currently own a PDA.

I have started a company (youth volleyball club). Instead of paying myself for the work and having to pay taxes, I would like the company to buy a cell phone and PDA (for stats, contact info, etc).

I am leaning toward purchasing a Treo 600, a combo unit. My only real concern is whether the screen size is to small to accurately do stats during a game.

I am looking for suggestions / alternatives. Should I buy separate phone and PDA units? Should I go with a combo? What do you like? The PDA must operate on a Palm OS (stat software is runs on Palm OS). Price is not a big issue as I will need to eat up around $1,500 profit.

Definitely get a combo. I love my Siemens Pocket PC phone.

Why does it have to be Palm OS? Are you absolutely tied to that one piece of software?

I am looking at other stat programs, but I love digital scout and it runs on the Palm OS. I am not married to Palm...but we are definitely engaged.

How well does Palm link up with your computer?

(And what kind of computer/OS do you have?)

Get separate units. You'll get a better one of each for less money, and you'll be able to look at the PDA when you're on the phone. This is more important than you might think.

Also, when you want the phone and not the PDA you won't have the extra bulk.

I agree with Dagonee here. Particularly the part about being able to look at the PDA when on the phone.

Q.

I can look at my PDA just fine when I'm on the phone. In addition to the handsfree device, my phone has a really good speakerphone. Not one of those lousy tinny ones . . . it really works well. Do you really want to be encumbered by two devices?

I have a combo, and I love it. I already said this yesterday, but I consider it one of the best purchases of my life.

I know two people who adore their Treos (and no one who has one and dislikes it). I prefer my PDA to be separate from my cell. [Dont Know]

My husband had a visor with visor phone- still does, actually, and the dual battery thing stinks. Does the Treo resolve this?
