Thats my thought Human. If those rumors are true I'll have to put my VHS copies away and only watch them on special occasions so I don't wear out the good version.

i don't think there's anything to this list. I have heard for a while that lucas wants to redo the movies again, and release this version on dvd and have this be the "final" version and the only one on dvd ever. he's stated before that no one will ever see the originals on dvd, and they will never be rereleased.
But i'm predicting a couple things. One, even if he makes these ultimate versions, he'll release the originals on dvd. two, that list is not real. i actually laughed at alot of those.
I really hope lucas wouldn't go that far to cover his tracks from stuff he did and is doing in the prequels that don't really fit with stuff from the originals. But god, wasn't Greedo shooting first enough? Must there be another Jabbas palace sing off? Must every little detail be changed so every single character in the star wars universe has a cute interesting connection to every other character? have you heard about Chewie in Episode 3. if it's true, and he destroys Chewie's character I'll personally kill him.
You think it's funny that Empire was not only the best original star wars movie, but also the best special edition? If i remember correctly all the changes made were very cool and really added to the scenes. bigger, nicer cloud city. window pane walls with views of the city. Vaders line change when he's leaving cloud city, about preparing the star destroyer for his arrival. All good stuff. Drawing a blank about other stuff, but i remember liking them all.

Last night Lucas was at a Q and A at USC. One of the questions he was asked was when would the STar Wars film be complete. He said that the originals are already complete he's fixed what he wanted to and that the reason they had to be fixed was he had an interfering studio. THe new films don't need to be fixed because he can do what he wants to.
