Speaking as an Australian, I no longer believe in rugby. (As of about 9.30 last night!)

Seriously, though, well done England - it was a *great* match, and you deserved to win. (Next time I think we'll have to take out Wilkinson early in the game [Wink]

My roommate plays on the rugby team here. I went to watch them for the first time the other night. It was interesting, but I don't think I'll become a big fan.

I've been following the World Cup on and off, although usually they don't broadcast the games here in America until a few days after the game has been played. (Last night I watched a bit of the England-France game on Fox Sports.)

Wilkinson is a phenominal kicker. I read that British bookies are giving 4:1 odds that he'll be knighted before the year is out, which I suppose is an interesting perk for British heroes. I also read that Wilkinson's mum couldn't take the stress of watching him play, so she was in the supermarket when she heard that they won.

I've only recently started following rugby--it's big at my school and I coached an intramural sevens team last semester. Up until then I, like most Americans, was completely ignorant of the game. Now that I know a bit about it, I really like it.
