What is perfection to you?

Perfection is the night.
Perfection is the desert.
Perfection is love.
Perfection is trust.
Perfection is honor.
Perfection is Eruve Nandiriel.

Posted by Dan_raven (Member # 3383) on :

Perfection is me.

Well, I can't say that because that would sound conceited.

Being conceited is a fault.

Perfection has no faults.

So I cannot say Perfection is Me.

I'm to modest to say that.

However, if you say it, I wouldn't disagree.

[edited NOT to fix my spelling mistakes, but to make it look like I made mistakes that needed editing. Being perfect, I make no spelling mistakes. Being modest, I don't rub that into your face.]

I take full responsibility for paving the way for all of these new Hatrack flirters.

It's all my fault.

Well, mine and my wife's, anyway.

Actually, I think it's all her fault.

But I love her anyway.

Jon Boy, you guys were really low-profile during your courtship. I saw a couple mild bits of flirtation, but for the most part you guys were cool about it.

I mean, you didn't make threads pretending it wasn't an excuse to blatantly flirt with someone.

Posted by JonnyNotSoBravo (Member # 5715) on :

It might be fun to have a Hatrack Tabloid thread that lists all the illicit and not so illicit romances that have occurred here on Hatrack, and what gossip is going around currently. Besides, how else would you know when the Incredible FrogBoy is on the loose again?

Perfection is a nice goal, but a boring reality.

Posted by Papa Moose (Member # 1992) on :

Perfection is complementarity. As Mama Squirrel covers all my many, many flaws (I'd use the word "shortcomings," but I'd never hear the end of it), so I cover both of hers. Two people, drawn together by similarities, made stronger by differences. The cheesy line from Jerry Maguire (Chris Bridges' comments on Tom Cruise's acting notwithstanding) contains the essence -- "You complete me."

The whole is indeed greater than the sum of the parts.

We indulged in outright mushiness on the forum a few times, but most of flirting was limited to AIM, I think.

And you have to give Annie and Hobbes a little bit of credit: at least Sakeriver isn't overrun with "tiger kisses" anymore.

I think the recent spate of flirting makes DD and JB want to make up for lost time.

Annie and Hobbes are adorable.

I checked it out pooka. Definitely not enough sensationalism. Look how low the readership was! Only 45 posts in how many months? That rag needs a new editor! You need to spice it up with some gossip, like the Leto II/Kama affair, Primal Curve tells all; an In Depth Interview with Hatrack Celebrity Ralphie on life, stardom, cheerleading, how she deals with the new Severe Hotties, and why Slash doesn't post as much anymore; toss in a human interest byline by Chris Bridges; editorial opinions by TomDavidson; the Annie/Hobbes creature's overly optimistic and loveydovey thoughts for the day (like a Horrorscope); Icarus as investigative reporter; Jeffrey Getzin as movie reviewer(currently on sabbatical from Hatrack); and many more, I'm sure...

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

It's a hatrack legend.

It's The Infamous Brown Jacket of T (copyright Feb 2003). It's a thing of hatrack legend.

In otherwords, just a way for me to get involved in a conversation and to hijack threads.

I'll write it up later when I'm not at work, if you want me to.

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

Please do, Nathan.

kat, it's "sah-keh," (the e makes the same sound as in "egg") not "sah-kay." There's no "ay" sound in Japanese.

Posted by Rappin' Ronnie Reagan (Member # 5626) on :

what about ei? that's pretty close to "ay." like in eiga.

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

saxon, are you asking for another tribute thread? Five was insufficient? Sheesh! Some people.

Perfection is this song:

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle, and loot,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch, and sack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle, and even high-jack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char, inflame and ignite,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

We're rascals, scoundrels, villans, and knaves,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We're beggars and blighters, ne'er-do-well cads,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Dig it.
