Someone at school today had an airhorn, and he thought it was hilarious to blow it all the time, right close by my locker.

Mr. Air Horn, this is for you.

SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!

This is so infantile.

I, myself, am far too dignified to scream.

Hee hee hee, haw haw haw Haw Haw HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW

(Or as the Laughing Indian so aptly put it,

Hee-haw, hee-haw, hee-haw-haw-haw-haw...) [Eek!]

Hmmm... screaming... maybe that's what I need now.

Anyway, I had this dream about copulating with an elephant... I'm trying to convince myself that my subconscious was trying to keep me from going crazy but, well, anyway.

Oh argh! wrong thread again.

I want to be annoyed by this thread, but I'm too busy laughing at the title.

Wonderful.

Incidentally, I'm an actual lunatic...and I'd like to point out that none of you are screaming anything like me.

To envision my scream, you'll have to recall the old Daily Show clip that was played right before "Five Questions".

2 months old, mack. The baby wasn't even capable of rolling over yet.

Thank God for my husband -- he took me home, rubbed my back, fed me, and shared a bottle of red wine. Last night was especially rough because I knew I had to come back in today.

BobbyK, thanks to you as well. I wish we were more comfortable with discussing anger at children in this culture -- maybe then we could be more open with one another about sharing techniques for dealing with it. As it is, we seem to idealize childhood and motherhood, and then be aghast at how inappropriately some deal with the reality.

I'm sorry, CT. I can't imagine the things you have to experience day to day, but I'm glad someone of your strength and substance is there to do it.

Regarding the anger thing, I agree with you. Talking about it here, ever so briefly, helped me quite a bit. Even though I was dealing with it pretty decently at the time, it was frustrating not to fall into that ideal that everyone expects.

<Always feels better when his life follows CT's suggestions, intentionally or not.>

Oh yeah -- Argh! *whimper*

The education about shaken baby has gotten a lot better in the last decade,
but there is still a lot of disagreement about the best way to deal with the feelings
behind it. I talked to a counselor right after I had this baby and I can remember
now that she was trying to steer me around to identifying and discussing my
anger, but I was just unwilling to admit that I could be angry at the baby.

A few weeks later I finally understood what she was getting at, that's it's okay
to acknowledge the anger and process it. What I have trouble with is feeling like
the situation (such as the baby crying, interrupted sleep) is never going to improve.

(((CT)))

I can't even imagine having to deal with that. It makes me want to scream just thinking about it. [Wall Bash]
