I was just in chat, and we realized that three of us were going to be in Colorado next week.

Anyone else going to be within driving distance of Boulder around Christmas that would be interested in having a little get together? [Smile]

We were thinking maybe ROTK would be a good idea. [Wink]

Ruth and I will be in Colorado after Christmas, but I'm not sure if we'll have the time for a get-together.

First post in about 5 years. :-P I am a frequenter of the chat, and I will be in CO next week. Hope I'll get to see some of you!

I don't know if I'm one of the three you mentioned, but I will be living in Boulder for break.

I might get to be there in January. Probably too late, huh?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

I think that probably would be too late, sorry. Narr and Temposs are only going to be there until the Monday after Christmas. Maybe next time?

I haven't checked into what day would work best for me yet, but we could brainstorm what we want to do. [Smile] ROTK is a possibility, but I don't know if I will have seen it with my family yet, and I was waiting to see it first with them. Any other ideas? Food is always good. Or you know, we could go bowling or something. What do you guys think?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Care me not, save that it be ist best that we did postpone our meeting such that the heavnly bells of Christmas did not distort the trumpet calls of our visitation.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Does that mean you couldn't do anything before Christmas, Hobbes? Because I am thinking that either the 23rd or the 29th would work best for me, and I don't know when on the 29th Narrativium and Temposs would be leaving. I have to ask to make sure, but I think my dad will probably want to do family stuff from Christmas Eve until Sunday. I don't think he has the day before Christmas Eve or the Monday afterwards off from work though.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

After would be better. Starting the evening of the 23rd going through the 25 (duh [Wink] ) I'll be unavliable. By the way, I have no idea what possesed me to write it like that. [Cool]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

[Smile] Silly Hobbes.

So, earlier in the day on the 23rd might work for you? I'm just wondering because chances are the 29th won't work for Narr and Temp.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Yah, but I go over with my family to my Aunt's house for dinner so it we would have to end at a reasonable time.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Ohh, and I wouldn't mind having two meetings, especially if Jon Boy and Brinestone managed to find time to meet us after they got here. [Cool]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

[Smile] Cool! Yeah, it sounds like Jon and Ruth are going to be busy, but I'd totally be up for meeting twice if they could come. [Big Grin]

Posted by narrativium (Member # 3230) on :

The morning of Tuesday the 23rd will probably work for me. The evening of Saturday the 27th (after 6:00) will also work but Sunday the 28th is a maybe, since I may be going snowmobiling that day.

Posted by ravenclaw (Member # 4377) on :

I'm in Boulder but not sure if anyone cares... though im sure I will be seeing hobbes more than once... I forgot, are you back yet?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

We'd love to have you if you want to come, Ravenclaw! [Big Grin] It looks like the morning of the 23rd will be the best, but no one else has made any suggestions. We could go out to breakfast maybe? Brunch if we want it to be later (since Temposs is going to be in Longmont). There's always The Buff restaurant that serves good breakfast. I don't know, what do you guys want to do?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

I discovered that my Christmas-eve-eve dinner was cancelled, so the 23rd would work any time of day. However, I'd like to know soon since relatives are coming to visit for a while and it's nice to warn them when you'll be gone. [Smile]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Well guys, I'm home! [Big Grin]

Does anyone have any input as to what we want to do? We can do basically anything, up to and including playing games at my house (my mom's invitation [Smile] ). So, what shall it be?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

And the fire did descend down upon Hobbes and di sit upon his brow as a crown of flame. And Hobbes did look forth among the people and declare unto them "keep thine wishes and spread good cheer among the children of men, for I do not care what we do at out meeting."

OK, we have a situation on our hands. I talked to Temposs, and he actually doesn't get in to Colorado until late in the afternoon on Tuesday. So, the problem is I'm not sure if the 26th or 27th works for me (my dad doesn't get many days off work and we were going to spend those days together), I'm going to talk to my family about it so we'll see.

Hobbes and Temposs are both ok with the 26th or 27th. What about you Narr? Or what time on Monday do you have to leave?

(Edit to change dates [Embarrassed] )

If Ruth and I can do something, it'll be the 29th or 30th. We'll let you know when we get our plans figured out.

I'll be skiing in Breckenridge over christmas.

Posted by narrativium (Member # 3230) on :

I can possibly do the evening of the 25th (probably after 6:00), or the 26th during the day. But if we do that, I need to know as soon as possible, so I can adjust other plans.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Well, Christmas is definitely out, so it looks like the 26th will have to be the day. I haven't talked to my dad yet, but I could probably manage to come to something on the 26th as long as it was not very long.

As far as what we do, I talked to Temposs and we thought it might be fun to go to the Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake and then wander around Pearl Street. Any objections? Any problems with Cheesecake? [Razz] There's plenty we could do if there are people that don't like that idea.

Edit: [Embarrassed] I totally meant the 26th or 27th in my earlier post! The 25th is Christmas! I'm a little silly... Sorry!

I don't like Cheescake. [Embarrassed] I do like the restraunt but if we're just going there for desert... well on the other hand deserts never been that big a deal to me, I could bring something else and just eat with you guys. [Smile]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by ravenclaw (Member # 4377) on :

Cheesecake is good. Other things are good too. Hobbes should tell me when there are plans because I keep forgetting to put this thread on my list of threads to lurk around in...

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

You don't like cheesecake, Hobbes! That's crazy. Well, you could always order an appetizer or something. They also have a wide assortment of daquiris that you can order (virgin-style of course [Wink] ). Or else we could go somewhere else. Do you have any ideas?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Cheescake sounds fine, besides which if we're just going to go wander around Pearl it isn't exactly devoid of other food shops. [Wink]

I'll keep Ravenclaw updated certainly. [Smile]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

*bump*

So, once we get the ok from Narr we'll be set for the 26th. Now we just need a time. It seems cheesecake would be good in the early afternoon. (Really, when is cheesecake not good? [Wink] )

Any preferences as to what time?

Posted by narrativium (Member # 3230) on :

The 26th is fine. The earlier, the better, because I have to be home by 4:00. And it looks like I'll probably have access to a car.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Any time 26th works for me, I can't speak for Ravenclaw though.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Cool! How about 1:00? Meet at the restaurant. I think that would be best. We'd have plenty of time to eat and wander around Pearl Street, and you could get home by 4:00, Narr. Temposs has said that the 26th would work. I'll just have to try and get a hold of him by then to give him details.

[Big Grin] This will be fun!

Oh, and Merry Christmas! [Smile]

Posted by ravenclaw (Member # 4377) on :

oooh yummy. 1:00 is perfect. Do you want a ride, Hobbes?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

1:00 sounds good, does that mean we'll have lunch there or just cheescake?

Ravenclaw, I was going to take the bus so yes, a ride would be appreciated thank-you. [Cool]

(Hobbes is trying not to drive this break, we'll see how that goes [Wink] )

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

*bump*

Any last minute alterations?

As far as I know, everyone is coming. So, unless something comes up before then, I'll see you all at 1:00! [Smile]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well it's not that important, but if you do see this before you go, are we having lunch or just cheesecake?

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

I figured people could order whatever they wanted. Being a poor college student, I'll probably just order something small and then cheesecake. [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Narrativium and Temposs (if you check this before you leave), Hobbes said he was probably going to be early and that he would get the table under 'Hobbes'. So, if you can't find us at the front of the restaurant, that's where we'll be. [Smile]

See you there!

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

*bump!*

Hey Jon Boy & Brinestone! Are you going to be able to squeeze in a little get together during your time here? I know I can see you two whenever up at school, but Hobbes probably wants to meet this infamous Hatrack couple. [Wink] We'd love to do something, even if it's very short. [Smile]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

We think tomorrow would be the best time. What works for you guys?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

I'm going to the latest matinee of ROTK with my family tomorrow, but before that would work for me. [Smile] I'm not sure exactly what time it will be, but definitely 4:00 or later.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

That works fine for me but we best decide soon, I normally get up late so... I need to know before I turn in for the night (which is also late, but we do need to decide tonight).

I have none, your turn. [Taunt] [Wink]

[Razz]

Fine, well I would have to be done by about 4:00. It's too cold to do anything outside, and to me, food is always a good idea. Problem is, I spend way too much money over break going to eat.

Well, my mom invited people over here last time. What about coming over here and playing games? [Dont Know]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Fine by me, though I may need a ride... or not, I don't know. When would be best?

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Doesn't really matter...though I would have to give my mom a fair warning tomorrow morning. She's asleep or I would ask her right now.

A ride could definitely be arranged. Shall we wait to set a time until we hear (or don't) from Jon Boy or Ruth?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well that's fine, but if I didn't set an alarm tomorrow I would probably end up sleeping until 1:00 so I think we should have some idea of when we'll meet so I'll know when to get up.

Hobbes [Smile]

Well, it sounds like sometime between 1:30 and 4:00 will be best. What do you guys want to do?

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

Well, you guys could come over to my house at 1:30, and we could play Settlers of Catan or some other game. We have quite the selection here. It has to be over by 4:00 because that's when we have to leave to go see ROTK ( [Big Grin] !), so if you wanted to come over earlier we could do that too.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

If that's ok, I can email you directions to my house. Are you guys coming from Arvada?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

That sounds good. Yes, we'll be coming from Arvada.

Posted by Ronin (Member # 1749) on :

I live in colorado...if anyone wants to go riding tomarrow Im going.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

I sent the directions to the email address you have listed here. If you have any questions about it, let me know. So, you're coming at 1:30?

Ronin, that sounds fun, but I have plans all day tomorrow. Maybe next time we have a get together you can make it. [Smile]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well I'm about to go for a short little bike ride, but before I do... Yay, I get to meet Jon Boy and Ruth! [Party]

If it comes down to it I can get myself there and back, but I would much prefer a ride. Only thing is, though Jennie (kindly) offered to drive me there, if she drove me back that would seriously cut into our time since she's the one limited by 4. If Jon Boy and Ruth... can you drive me to Boulder? I fully understand if you can not and then I'll just get Jennie to mail me directions too. [Smile]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

We have to be back here at 5:00, so I don't think we'd be able to give you a ride, Hobbes. Sorry. We're going to eat lunch now, and then we'll head on over. I think we'll get there closer to 2:00.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Hmmm.... well I'm back, and the other three are all leaving to go some where. We'll see if I can muster a summary of our time before I leave or if someone else gets to write it up. For now, I had a great time. [Cool]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Too bad it was so short. And too bad that Jennie totally kicked our collective trashes at Knights of Catan. But at least she provided Andes brownies. That eased the agony of defeat somewhat.

Posted by hansenj (Member # 4034) on :

[Razz] Yeah, that was fun. I think it was just luck though, cause I was really blocked in on the board. I just kept getting the right resources.

We'll have to have a rematch sometime... [Wink]
