This is my official countdown to the Alien vs. Predator movie, and see if after the movie is over if its novelty value can topple Freddy vs. Jason, which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you hear any developments of the film, please post it here. I am very excited about its release.

Also, I seem to have forgotten my password to my preferred account, "Dim Sum", and I cannot recall which email I used for it in the first place (as if I'll remember the password to that). Any suggestions?

Alien vs. Predator > Freddy vs. Jason.

Why? They're aliens, for crying out loud!

They are good, but there are other combinations I'd like to see.

10) Poke-mon v.s. Yugi Oh (A movie where everyone is carded before entering)
9) The Odd Numbered Star Trek movies v.s. the Prequell Star Wars movie. (Who knows, maybe it can save both franchises.)
8) Jackie Chan V.S. Charlie Chan
7) The Fantastic Four V.S. The Fab Five (short movie but sure to get the nod for best design and costumes)
6) Charlie's Angels v.s. The Devil In Ms. Jones. (Not that I've ever seen that dirty disgusting movie. Nope. Just heard about it from someone. I am not that low as to actually ever have watched on of those, you know, "Charlie's Angel's movies)
5) Godzilla V.S. Bambi. (Oh wait. I have seen this movie. Never mind)
4) Terminator v.s. Conan. (No onarism jokes please)
3) Jurassic Park v.s. Disney World (because we all know that Micky would kick dino backside)
2) Treebeard V.S. The Swamp Thing. (no woody jokes please)

and the #1 VS movie of all times.....

1) Gili V.S. the large roaring fire with lots of gasoline and other comustible materials and a major air freshener to get rid of the awful stench.

I thought FvJ was a soaring success, relative to my expectations. The Nightmare and Friday 13th movies were just slashers, characterless fright fests. Neither Freddy nor Jason really have legacies. All that was required for FvJ to be a success was an interesting premise, lots of slashing, and a cool fight. This movie delivered on all that.

I'm expecting AvP to be a terrible waste of time and a smear on both franchises.

Consider the two best Alien movies - the first and second. The first was a masterpiece of sci fi horror, excellent in both craft and entertainment. The second was a balls-to-the-wall action flick, in my opinion the best of the 80s, if not of all time. Likable characters, fast story, excellent fight scenes.

Also the first Predator movie, another of the 80s' best action flicks. Scary and clever with an excellent villain, well shot and decently acted, considering who was in it.

I don't see how there could be room for these two franchises to exist in one movie. There's just too much there - it's going to be a fluffy action movie, with none of the style and panache inherant in both franchises.

It's going to be worse that Predator 2.

The AvP video games were good, though.

Anyway, I want to see The Muppet Show vs Sessame St., in which Kermit is a spy for one of them, or both of them, or neither of them. We won't know 'til the end of the movie!

I thought the third Alien movie was the best....

AvP is being directed by the worst SciFi director in the universe. This movie will be a cancer on the colon of reality.

I liked "Aliens", and I liked the single player Marine missions in Aliens vs Preditor II game. Both very good and very cool. Both involved the emotional energy of the Colonial Marines with their very cool M41A Pulse Rifles.

The new AvP movie will not feature the Marines. It's set to be happening in a remote and frozen wasteland somewhere in Alaska.
Are they trying to tap into The Thing's vibe? I don't know, but I have little hope that this movie is going to turn out watchable let alone enjoyable.
Predator was cool too... The Gary Busy flick called Predator II was completely worthless and is a "Non-Movie". A Non-Movie is one that should never have been made and should never be refrenced... it's memory forgotten by all. What made that flick so bad was that #1, it had Gary Busy in it, and #2 it didn't have the commandos in it. You need soldiers to fight evil, and not bumbling keystone cops. Perhaps this is why Aliens III sucked so bad?

AvP The Movie doesn't look like it has any redeeming quailities and the "trailer" looks absolutely stupid.

If you want AvP - get the game mentioned above, play it in the dark with the stereo speakers turned up.
