I posted on the OSC forum a little story my students have begun by following the 1,000 Ideas in an Hour method. If you haven't tried this, do so NOW. It is really fun. I couldn't believe how engaged the students were. Even the shy, quiet kids were shouting out incredibly creative ideas. It was soooo fun! And, even more surprisingly, no one minded if I passed up their ideas for something else. We had a ball creating the story. Go read it. Jenny's 2nd Grade class story I hope you enjoy, and I'll post "What happens next?" tomorrow.
Also, use this topic to discuss your own experiences with 1,000 Ideas an Hour or other OSC teaching methods.

Well crud! I guess you need to pick the right hour first.

Stealing the Grandmas! I love it.
I’ve tried the 1000 ideas to try to force a story idea when I’m dry. It sort of worked, but I think the real problem is its a process that might work better with a big group (as opposed to just me ) so you have a larger variety of ideas bouncing off each other
We tried an online experiment of it over in the Writer’s Workshop here.

LOL, Jenny! That is a *wonderful* story!
What is the 1,000 ideas in an hour method? My son *hates* to write...maybe it's something I could use to help him have more fun with it.
