Never thought I'd complain about this, but there are too many concerts more or less in my area I want to go to in the same time period, and I'm broke.

Tonight: Stephen Lynch
Tomorrow night: Bill Cosby
All this weekend: Christopher Titus
Jan. 27: Steven Wright

I'm shooting for Steven Wright, it gives me time to save up. Argh!

That's it, just wanted to vent for a minute.

I got three Eddie Izzard routines for Christmas, so I'm set for a while [Smile]

Never been to a comedy concert, but I like Stephen Wright. "I have no concept of time"

That's interesting, although my respect for Geoff remains high, I seem to like him far less after reading that. [Dont Know]

I've seen a lot more comedy concerts than I have musical ones (and most of those were Weird Al concerts, which muddy the categories somewhat).

I'm still peeved I missed the Dave Atell/Lewis Black one that cam through last year.

Stephen Lynch is a genius

I saw him last year, so I'm not devasted I'm not going tonight (although he did say he had new stuff already, grumble grumble...)

Steven Wright's the guy who does the one-liners? I tried out an album of his, and I couldn't find any Funny. Just a monotone guy creaking out one-liners and the audience laughing uproariously.

Granted, I didn't listen the entire way through for the sake of my sanity, but is there more to him than I found?

I've never seen anybody in concert or anything. I just wanted to say that my favorite comedian is Pablo Fransisco.

Francisco's not bad, though he's nothing special. You need to listen to Richard Jeni. Or Dave Chappelle. Or George Lopez, the greatest Chicano stand-up comedian in the business. (Carlos Mencia's good if you want a conservative Mexican comedian -- and he is funny -- but the guy's pretty hateful in much of his act. If you get the chance, listen to how his speech changes when he talks about "fags.")

During the first season of the new Star Search show, there was this amazing comedian. He ended up winning, and I haven't seen or heard from him since. Anyone know who I'm talking about? He's a bald white guy. He probably got shuffled to some CBS writing job. Poor guy.

Hobbes, do you deny that if pure comic genius were bottled, poured into a human-shaped mold, and then tarted up in a Kimono, the result would be Eddie Izzard?
