Seriously, though, losing touch with old friends is a very sad thing. People have such full lives, though, that even with the instant communication of e-mail, we don't make the effort.

I contacted an old friend not long ago and the reaction was really kind of blase. It was a real let-down. Not even a "oh cool, how are you doing?"

Oh well.

I guess I should be glad he e-mailed back at all, it's not like either of us has made an effort to keep in touch over the past 10 years.
