This is a little disgusting, but I thought it warranted a topic of its own...

Beware of the Whales

[Angst]

Nuke the Whales!

Why? Because you gotta nuke something. [Evil]

that reminds me of when they dynomited a dead whale on the beach in Oregon in the 70's.

The logic was they could blow it up into tiny peices and the birds would clean it up.

Turns out they just blew whale chunks all over. It was covered on live TV and right after the boom, you saw people start running for cover.

I'm sure someone with more internet savvy could find a link too it. I just remember how vivid the sound of splatting whale was.

heh...heh...heh...

I remember when Dave Barry wrote a column about that. I used to live in Richland, WA, which is close to the Washington/Oregon border, and we used to laugh at ODOT a lot. That story always gives me a giggle.

Wow. That was on the news? TV news had long segments back then...

*cannot stand TV news*

You know, I woke up to the audio from that segment on the radio this morning. I was semiconscious and listening to them talking about quivering bits of blubber... (sighs)
