Hatrack Forum Landmark Post.

Come on, Mr. and Mrs. Card. Come on, Ms. Kidd. Let's hear the story of Hatrack.

I assume (and hope) you didn't go back and count them all, so just for future reference, how did you get that number?

On the page which lists both forums, there's a post counter next to each forum.

Edited to add a link to the page in case you don't know what I'm talking about.

Oh....durr....

As for the original question, it makes me feel new.

It's not, really.
Every once in a while, the mods go through and delete threads, and the post count goes down again.

Ni!

It was just plain luck. I happen to have that page as my bookmark so I can access either forum. I happened to notice a bunch of 9s on my screen, so I waited for a couple people to post, then I added mine. I agree it is a landmark, but don't feel remotely qualified to to add anything significant. If anyone feels so inclined, feel free to add to this thread. If one of the mods feels so inclined, feel free to edit my post to add your own landmark.

There were 295K posts a couple weeks ago, and the forum repeatedly crashed, so they culled. It's not the first time they've done so. As of some point in time on April 8th, 2003, the total number of posts by all registered users was 414,166. I haven't checked since then, because what would be the point?

What was the point then, you may ask? There was none....
