Wow, that is so really weird to write!

I'm having a hard time saying the word "stepmother" or "stepmom", it's not something I ever thought I'd have.

Anyway, things have been going really well, we are talking every day via email. I brought up a bunch of "stuff" on my therapists' advice, just telling him how I felt and his response has been wonderful.

Basically what we are all doing right now is trying to build a relationship. We all (when I say all I mean my father, my mother, my brother and I) recognize that some mistakes were made, and some things could have been handled differently. My mother admits she had a hand in keeping him away from us, and he admits he could have tried harder to see us and didn't.

We're going to meet in May. And, then things will go from there I guess.

Anyway, in case you were interested, I have some pictures you can see.

I'm so glad that things have been going well!! I'm glad that your therapist is helping to guide you through this experience. I really hope this is the start of what will be a great relationship for you. ((Belle))

Great Belle!

Between you and FG today seems to be Hatrack Therapy works day.

Tom, I'm curious! There any particular reason you thought he'd look like that?

BTW, got an email this morning, he has requested to serve some active duty here in the States, even though the Army hinted that they'd like him to go back to Iraq. He's asking to be assigned to Ft. McPherson (? hope that's right) near Atlanta so he can be closer to us. If he gets it approved, I may be weekend guest at Olivia's a few times. [Smile]

That would be cool. Not just because I could see my father, but because it's an excellent excuse to go hang out with Olivia. [Big Grin]

For the record, those things your dad and stepmom are holding in the vacation picture are not dogs.

A German Shepherd is a dog. A Lab is a dog. A Collie is a dog.

Those critters in the photo are squirrels.

What do you mean Yozhik? They look nothing like me.

I'd be happy to have you any time, hon! Just give me enough notice to shovel out my house. [Wink]

Yoz, I agree. [Smile] I've already given my father a hard time about those ankle-biters.

I have a golden retriever mix, and in the past I've owned both labs and German Shepherds.

Did you already tell us he's a singer? I must've forgotten that part. So, opera??? He looks good in a tux.

Those dogs in the picture looked like they were thinking "Please don't make me fetch the stick in the ocean again!!!"
