Hatrack Geeks, I offer incense and pretty picures. Please, any ideas?

For the last 5 days or so, I've been unable to access my Yahoo mail (either the CT or real-name account). I am permitted to log in, and I can see messages accummulating in the Inbox and Bulk mail folders on the main access page, but actually getting into the Inbox or Bulk mail folder is a no go.

Same problem in both Opera and IE.

The CT account has started to collect spam [Frown] , but I've been filtering and deleting assiduously, and I'm listed as only using 63% of my available space anyway. My real-name account doesn't get spam yet, so overloading a folder shouldn't be an issue.

A net search on "problems + (Yahoo mail)" shows that other people have had similar problems before, and this was generally fixed by clearing cookies. I cleared my cookies! I cleared them twice!

Other thoughts? Random acts of beneficence from the IT ones on high?

Anyone else having similar problems with Yahoo accounts?

PS: I'm currently unreachable by email, obviously.

Hmmm... get another email provider?

[Smile]

Sorry. I have no idea. I had to close my yahoo account a year ago because of the amount of spam I was getting: for some reason on hotmail I get a lot less. Nothing to do with your problem, but it does mean I know nothing about yahoo mail.

Of course, in the interim, you could make some witty comments in my thread. It is monty python after all.

Ouch, CT!

I'm having no difficulty with my Yahoo mail account. Well, other than the usual spam issues -- and they are worse on Hotmail IMO.

So I am not able to help you one bit! Sorry. [Dont Know]

What happens when you try to click on your Inbox, exactly?

mine does not seem to be giving me grief either. just 900 spams a day
and my verizon address is no more. if i restart i'll lose about a year's worth of messages!

Ditto, for me. No probs with my Yahoo accounts. Much more spam on Hotmail.

Actually hotmail updated their site recently, and I get no junkmail now.

You heard me right.

None.

Not for like a month now.

For some reason, usually if you wait long enough, the spam will get less and less.

What you should do next time is create one yahoo account for registering for stuff (this almost always results in spam) and another account for personal use.

It just times out. Won't access any of the folders, although I can look at the page that tells me how many items are in each folder all day. I'll just try from another computer once I get back to the States.

Hi: Good idea. It's what I did. Unfortunately, my ct_therese account started collecting spam too, just like the throwaway account (which I never even look at). My super-duper secret real-name account has stayed clean, however. Probably because I never use it. [Wink]

I can give you an email address through my domain if you want.

OH!

Where's the list, btw? [Frown]

Sorry, my search resulted in no more answers than yours. I can't even find a place for you to email support. You can leave feedback on the Yahoo Mail help site, but they wouldn't know who to get back to.

Hope you've been able to get some R&R in Canada!

Edit: I found the form, at least:
