I'm not sure I can wait for the next installment....

Oh, that is AMAZING.
Though the second one cut out on me. Crap. I hope it's fixable, I love these.

I kept waiting for the mushroom guy to tell Mario that the princess was in another castle, that would have been cool.

I Love the soundtrack!
Posted by Taalcon (Member # 839) on :
That is how the game SHOULD have started. Wow.

Oh.... my.... cod....
If laughing at turtles burrying hatchets into mushroom turbans is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
Loved the tribute to khazad dum and Braveheart.

I'm thinking Luigi rises from the dead to help out his bro.

Level 30.. booya.
Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :
I can't figure it out.
Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
Me either. Ahhh! I've wasted like 15 minutes on this already (just this level).
Hobbes
Posted by Taalcon (Member # 839) on :
Maybe 30 is as high as it goes?
Hrrm...
Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :
that would be too cruel...
Posted by Taalcon (Member # 839) on :
I can always get it down to either one little bugger, or one big bugger --- arrg.

I've got it down to one guy in like three distinct ways.
I'm unhappy, this game has brought me unhappieness.

Posted by Beren One Hand (Member # 3403) on :
This is almost, but not quite, as much fun as our imaginary game.
Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :
Even if they just gave one more little grenade, I'd have nailed it hours ago.
Posted by Taalcon (Member # 839) on :
I think the people who made the game are cheating.

My friend closed my window. He must die.

I agree, all three of you.

what imaginary game?

I got it!!!!!!

share?
Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
Hmm... to be honest, I don't remeber exactly, but I'll say that the left most slider comes into play, and it's very similar to the way it sounds like you were doing it.

32 can go... I don't know, 3:00 is too late to think of a good insult for this.

I gave up....
Posted by Taalcon (Member # 839) on :
Me too. Hobbes, you reign supreme.
Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
It took me about 30 minutes or more. And now 32 seems impossible, I think I'll post a screen shot of it.
Um... it just gave me some error about kernal 32 and now I cannot access the game again...
Posted by Slash the Berzerker (Member # 556) on :
Level 38 before I quit.
Level 32 is tough, but here's a clue. You can't beat it using full power. The higher you go, the more you have to finely control the number of bombs you use.
Early on, you can leave it on full blast and just use angles and bounce to clear the screen. That is deceptive, and can make the later levels tough if you aren't used to controlling the power of the blast as well.

I love that they used "Pyramid Song." That was perfect.
Edit: FINALLY past level 30.

Got level 32 on my first try.
Posted by Beren One Hand (Member # 3403) on :
How did you skip the first 31 levels?
Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :
You can only do it on a Mac.
Level 37 is going to be my undoing, I think.
Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :
Finally past 37. Ugh, that one was hard.
Posted by digging_holes (Member # 6237) on :
So how do we know when the fourth installment of the Mario movie is out?
Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
I got to 39 and quit. Stupid 39

Back to the topic of emotional Mario Adventures...
What would happen if the situation was reversed, and Luigi was the survivor?
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
Dammit, I'm on 38, and can't get past it. There's still one little focker staying JUST out of range...
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
I got to 39. I want this on my tombstone.
Posted by Frisco (Member # 3765) on :
Am I the first to make it to 40?
It looks pretty duanting. The bugs MOVE!
Posted by Frisco (Member # 3765) on :
On the up side, I now know how to take screen shots.
On the down side, to learn that, I had to go to a website that my roommate AIMed me.
Now, I need to know--is there a setting in AIM that makes it so a link opens into a new window rather than the one you were previously using to blow up warthogs?
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
Holy crap, they do move on level 40. I think I'm slowly being mesmerized.
Must... Kill... Martha... Stewart...
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
HA! I BEAT THE GAME!
My computer keeps asking me "You all right?"
quote:CONGRATULATIONS!
[picture of a boxy green stormtrooper shaking hands with a bandaged alien]
You have successfully popped the engineers on all our levels.
Credits & Stats
Life is good. I'm better than Frisco. We always knew that, but at least we now have verification of it.
Posted by Frisco (Member # 3765) on :
Sure, fail to mention who got there first and IMed you the solution.
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
Whoa... I launched my Warthog anyway, after it was finished. I have no idea what I hit, or if I hit anything at all, but then I got an indicator telling me to move on the next level.
Now there are multi-colored, tiny rings of aliens... They're all contracting around the center.
I not only beat the game before Frisco, I discovered secret levels. GOD I'm good.
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
Pff. You got to level 40 first, true, but the solution you IMed me to solve 39 didn't work.
Sigh... All the little people I stepped on to get here are trying to rebel. Silly serf, success is for me.
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
Actually, I need to give props to Eddie. I've had this window open for off-and-on, spur-of-the-moment playing for the past three days. Eddie got to level 40 in as many minutes, and probably would have beaten the game before I did had AIM not destroyed his game. Also, the formula he gave me for level 39 wasn't entirely off from what I came up with myself, and I was no doubt largely inspired by his recommendation for 90% power.
Not that I'm not his superior in every way possible, but in this case, at least, Eddie went far faster (and would have gone far further) than I did. I don't keep him around for only his entertainment value. It's also that big sexy butt of his. And his big sexy brain. And his big sexy brain.
Posted by Frisco (Member # 3765) on :
Okay, the bar was closed, so I came back and beat it.
But what the heck is going on in that "secret" level? It's mesmerizing, but I can't get any fewer then 5 aliens.

Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
I got it down to four, I believe. But dammit, I can't beat it.
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
The key, I think, is to concentrate on a round path. While you'll get greater efficiency if you bomb the crap out of the center while its contracted, you'll end up neglecting at least one important outer section. When I get back tomorrow, I'll try to get it when the circles are fully extended.
Posted by Ron Lambert (Member # 2872) on :
Sounds like you guys are ready. The aliens can come now and draft you to fight in their war to save the galaxy. Or conquer it. (Depends on your point of view.)
Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :
37 seconds.
Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :
181 seconds, and I'm not trying again. That game will drive me mad.
Posted by Lalo (Member # 3772) on :
I scored 78 on my first try, and I don't intend a second. For some bizarre reason, I get horribly confused as to which side I'm putting red and blue on...

25. I quit.
