Drawing deeply from OSC's recent war/world/civilation Watch columns.
I'm not sure I understand what a civil society is, what is does, and even less so, how it persists - and whether that persistance is a good thing or not?
my world:
I live in it. I draw from it. I depend on it. I rail against it. Everything that defines my success and failure as an individual is causally dependent on the context within which I operate.
It's difficult to define the role and appropriate behavior of a member of a civil society without clearly defining the goals (?) of that body.
