I thought for sure that you were going to link to one of the news stories on the guy who didn't do the cremating he was paid to do, and just let bodies stack up all over.

I decided that the cremation stories were not quite in the light-hearted spirit of dobiage.

Icarus, there is nothing quite as good as marshmallows toasted over an old-fashioned napalm fire. [Razz]

Actually a quick home-made recipe for your own Napalm is equal parts of styrofoam and kerosene. The styrofoam will disintegrate in the kerosene and make a nice matrix that has all kinds of possibilities, with cohesive abilities to boot.

It must have been about ten years ago, I was having dinner with my parents and my aunt and uncle. My uncle worked at Kodak, in the chemical engineering department.

At some point during the dinner conversation, my uncle made some mention in passing about the development of napalm at Kodak and his involvement in it.

This was followed by total silence. My mom and dad both looked at me out of the corners of their eyes, waiting and dreading. (BTW, this was the first time I heard about his involvement with napalm).

Not wanting to disappoint, I turned to my uncle and said: "You must be so proud." (I was smiling and said it gently.)

Which was followed by a very short silence and loud laughter - him laughing the loudest. He hated how napalm was used - like most people working on projects like that one, he disconnected his work from the actual use to which it would be put.

We laughed - because sometimes that is what you do when it hurts.

i'm not sure wheather I'd want to be buried or cremated, or tossed to the ocean, or frozen forever, or anything else...death isn't really an appealing subject...

Yeah, CT, ouch. What else could you say or do at that point? It's not like anything done could be undone.

Acknowledge the discomfort, acknowledge the pain. And move on.
