I get these all the time, and as I don't have the tools to put them to print, I figure I can just give them out to those who can.
Idea: Embrionic stem cells are given "souls" (defined however one likes,) because they are unborn human infants.
Thus, embrionic stem cells made into bacterial infection become sentient super-plague with each individual cell just part of overall consciousness. The more infected- the more intelligent.
In print, it sounds like comic-book material, but it floated into my head while reading an article on the latest adult stem-cell research. It's topical and modern which always make for fun reading.
