Of course they would say that! It's in their best interest to pay off scientists to say that everything's fine in the Prince William Sound.

Nothing makes me more sick than huge cooperations doing their very best to avoid having to pay for the damages that they caused, not just to the environment, but to the people that they caused to suffer as well.

If you are going to assume that Exxon is lying just because they are saying what is most beneficial to then, then you should also assume that the other side is lying too.

I don't think lying or not lying have anything to do with it. Damages aren't contingent on whether you think you've "done your duty" or not.

I'm likewise really annoyed with large corporations who do not follow-through with payment of their debts (which I would consider this to be). Then again, I'm also sickened by the salaries paid to high-ranking corporate officials.

Ever since the Exxon disaster, I vowed to never buy their gasoline and I'm proud to say that I never have.

Mr_Porteiro, I'm confused. I should assume that the people who are living in the surrounding cities that depended on the fishing they did as their livelihood and can see the damage that's been caused first hand are lying? How many people from Exxon killed themselves over this matter? That says more to me on their behalf than any press release Exxon can send out.

And yet, how many of us still buy gas at Exxon stations?

I quit being a customer of their's back when the spill happened. How about we start a boycott of Exxon gas stations until they pony up what they owe?
