Has anyone else read "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russel. I'm in the middle of the sequel "Children of God Now" and would love to discuss it.

Read both, sent them to a good friend. Maybe a book club on them? Or just a discussion, Rabbit?

Yes, I thought they were very powerful, especially taken as a pair. Her first novels, too, and I believe she is a scientist.

Rabbit, I read them a while back too. I'd love to re-read them and discuss. [Smile]

If we have enough people who read it, let's just discuss. If you and I are the only ones, lets aim for a book club.

Read The Sparrow and found it amazingly beautiful... very pleased to find there is a sequel... will read it immediately.

TAK, it's a bit of the unexpected. Enjoy. [Smile]

I've read both. The Sparrow hit me hard. The sequel was easier on me.

I enjoyed them.

Read them both. Didn't find them all that moving. Haven't recommended them to anyone. No desire to read again.

It's ok, Belle, I still respect you.

I loved them! They were very moving, and I understand the need to talk about them.

Actually, it was "The Sparrow" that I loved. "Children of God" wasn't nearly as poignant.
