Anyone else out there think AOL is the Beast? My main beef with them is how their downloads jack with my modem settings in an attempt to prevent you from ever using a different ISP. Sure I'm doomed to miss out on a major part of Hatrack sociability.

You could try Gaim, Trillian, or one of the other million alternative AIM clients.

Okay, do you have linkage or are you just taunting me? I usually entertain myself that I have some computer literacy. You little whippersnapper. (Sorry, I typed in Trillian.com and got this really weird page.)

That's all I know off the top of my head.

Thanks! I'm just the teensiest bit moody there.

I think skrika was talking about using AOL itself (last time I checked, AIM didn't screw with my modem settings on my laptop).
Yeah, I loved working for an ISP when AOL started pulling that stuff. AOL would always blame "our software" (DUN) for the problems.
If I were you, I'd find another ISP. If for no other reason than AOL putting Spyware on your machine (yes, you're paying for spyware!) and the fact that they've been known to block where you can go.
