If you can make it to Bartley's on April 23rd, please post here. Also, what time works best for you? Bok wanted it somewhat later, so I'm inclined to say meet at 7pm at Bartleys, unless we have any other objections.

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

I'm totally there... At 7 o clock... earlier would be good for me too... As long as I don't miss the last train from Boston
Because that would suck [Big Grin]
Shall I describe myself and what I'll probably be wearing so people can recognize me?

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Wiat until we know the weather *Grin* If its raining and 35 you'll probably be wearing something other then what you'd wear if its 70 and sunny [Smile]

Posted by sarahdipity (Member # 3254) on :

I may or may not be able to attend. Mainly depending on if I am still alive by the end of april. Grad school may kill me in the next couple of weeks.

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

I'll be there, most likely.

Posted by Paercival (Member # 1408) on :

Oh my god! Crap! I just realized I can't make it! [Frown]
I'm going to be in Pittsburgh for the last track meet of my career.
Oh well, can't have the best of both worlds I suppose.

I'll just have to somehow spend time with Myr at some other time [Wink]

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

Awww, well good luck at the meet!

Seems I can make it, my class that day was cancelled (yay!!) so anytime is good for me.

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

I'm in!

7pm, bartleys, friday the 23rd.

See ya there!

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

* sighs * This means I'm going to miss iaido practice.. again!

Iaido is normally Sunday mornings, but now our instructor decided to start having Friday practices, too. Sigh. And I'm already behind. Maybe I can convince him to hold practice really early on Friday...

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

Oh no!

Suneun, I have the car for Friday and I definitely owe you guys a ride (or two..or three [Smile] ). Want a lift?

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

Hmmm. I'll have to figure things out. Not sure if I'll come home Fri night or Sat morning (I have to be back in town by 12:30 pm Sat). How free are you on Friday? I'm free after noon, I think. We could bum around in providence. Mike and Beca have work until at least 4:30 (later for Mike, perhaps). But we know how traffic is to Boston... (ew!)

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

Hehe, we sure do... My class Friday is cancelled so all that matters is how soon my parents can pick me up from school, and that only depends on how early it is when I ask them to pick me up.

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

Hmm, weather says "showers," but it lies a lot. This weekend is Spring Weekend at Brown, so there will be lots of "letting loose" starting Thursday or so. For example, there's Spagfest on Friday afternoon, which is where people pay about $7 to eat spaghetti and drink wine from a box at a frat on their patio. It's quite a tradition.

But assuming the weather's nice, maybe you can bum around with us for a bit in Providence before some number of cars (1 or 2) go up to Boston. Keep me posted [Big Grin]

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

Oh, BTW. Paul: I do hope you're planning on more fun than _just_ dinner. People should expect to stay late!

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

*grin*

Posted by Paercival (Member # 1408) on :

wishing i could be there, but i'll be in pittsburg. oh well.

Posted by Godric (Member # 4587) on :

[Frown]

No $$$ for a road trip this time...

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

I can't make it this time, but I hope you all have fun.

Maybe you should run by Leagal Seafood so Myr could check out that waiter again. Maybe he likes goth too... [Evil]

Have fun, and let us know how it turned out, ok?

Kwea

BTW, JenniK said to tell you all she is looking forward to meeting you IRL this summer at the WMASS Picnic!

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

*Ponder* I wasn't really PLANNING anything else, but I suppose I could come up with something. Depends on weather I guess. We can definetely come back to my place and hang out. If an evening of "hanging" is cool with people, I can pick up chips and soda and stuff.
Alternatively, if its nice out, we can cruise down to Fanueil Hall/Waterfront.
Or, since it IS a hatrack gathering, if its not nice out, I know a great used book store on Newbury street that is going out of business, so everything is on sale.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

Paul, where is this store, and what is it's name? JenniK and I both have Mondays off, so maybe I'll suprise her with a trip out there this week. We both love to read, and Boston is cool, so I'm sure she'd love it.

Kwea

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

hanging out is generally good.

would the bookstore still be open after dinner? is it in cambridge square?

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

And there's always Gillian's, where I could school any of you at foosball, even though I haven't played in 6 months [Smile]

-Bok

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

Newbury Stt. is in Back Bay, in Boston, Suneun. Near the Prudential building.

-Bok

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

The bookstore is right at the hynes convention center. Its not REAL close, and I don't know if it would be open. Its Victor Huge used book store. I think its closing may first, so there may not be much left.

*peers* Its not gonna be open after dinner, for very long. Here's the home page for those interested.

I'm gonna assume we hang out at my place, so I'll buy chips and stuff this afternoon. Put in any special requests before 4 pm est.

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

Could I have directions to the place again?

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Are you driving or taking the T?

If you are taking the T get off at harvard square, main entrance, turn 180 and walk 3-5 minutes.
It faces harvard yard. If driving, umm, talk to someone else [Smile]

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

There's the #1 bus from harvard along mass ave that could easily take us to Hynes in 20 minutes. The CT1 may still be running, which goes along a similar route, but I wouldn't bet on it.

-Bok

EDIT: That was about getting to the book store, not to dinner.

*salivates preemptively*

Oh, and I can get off work on the early side, if that helps. Maybe if we get there before 7 we can bum around Harvard Square for a bit.

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

I think Beca would like to leave at 5 (after work, so she can change), and that would give us time to get there, though it's likely we won't get there early at all.

Still not sure when Myr's getting her car (hey, Kris!). She might come early and bum with me (I'll have had my exam in the morning) until we head outta town.

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

Grrr, I don't know either, dad's on a business trip, but coming home sometime Friday morning, and i dunno how long my mom will be at her appointments at work Friday... ayeayeaye... Just saying that yes I'm still alive [Smile] Get back to you on the rest O_o

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Bok-
The book store closes at 8, so unless we eat fast...

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

Yeah, that's pretty much out then... So foosball, perhaps? [Wink]

-Bok

What do you guys look like? So I can reconize you. I am brown skinned with short hair and sloggy clothes.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

Sloggy? [Big Grin]

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

We're likely going to be the odd looking bunch standing around a little apart from each other, giggling nervously. Or something.

Your best bet will be to poke through foobonic (who has the link?)...

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

IF the weather is nice, I will be wearing a t shirt that says on the back "The beatings will continue until morale improves."

Otherwise, I don't know what I'll be wearing.

Posted by sarahdipity (Member # 3254) on :

Sorry I can't make it I have a friend's goign away party to attend. Have fun everyone and wasn't it soemone's birthday or something. If so happy bday!

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Anyone else coming?

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

I will wear my green Americorps City Pride jacket
Stupid rain... It has to rain when I have to go to Brockton >.<

Posted by Beca (Member # 4340) on :

I'm coming with the RI crew. [Smile]

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

My girlfriend (non-Jatraquera) will be there.

Be gentle.

-Bok

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

Gentle?

Whats that?

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

Whuddif she don't like it gentle? [Evil]

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

*giggles*

I'll be getting home around 1, 1:30, btw... which is 20-35 minutes from Providence [Smile]

Posted by Suneun (Member # 3247) on :

Hmm... It looks like I have iaido practice from 3-4:30, so I'll be pre-occupied. It also looks like my car is swinging by Waltham to pick up Martha.

so you might end up having to go straight up to boston without us, or hopping in the car with us for the waltham-boston route. Beca and Mike are getting out of work by 5, so they won't be around......

whuddya wanna do?

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

I count nine of us?

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

I can come up for five... being a big fan of not getting hopeless lost and all, I think I'll tag along again. Don't forget I owe you guys big time [Smile] I'll email you.

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

I'ma be cleaning up my apartment today in expectations we'll be coming here afterwards. If we don't, no big deal, I will have gotten cleaning done.

I'm also going out to buy chips and soda in case we come back.

Posted by Beca (Member # 4340) on :

Just so you know, Suneun, Mike, and I are all still at my apartment, waiting for Myr. She's stuck in the traffic on I-95. But she's getting closer....we hope.

(wheeeeee)

We may get there closer to 7:30 - since we still have to pick up Martha. Unless....

Oh, wait.

Myr just got here. And Martha is taking the bus. See how much info you get when i'm too tired to delete.....

[Smile]

Hey Beca-
My roommate likes you [Smile]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

* giggles *

We just got back about 5 minutes ago. Made very nice time on the drive home.

T'was lovely bumming at your place, Paul. Thank your roommate again for letting a bunch of strangers pop in.

And Bok: Mister Old-Man! What a shame you couldn't muster up the energy...

Posted by Beca (Member # 4340) on :

[Eek!]

Must have been all the caffeine and sugar. (I mentioned the coffee in the car on the way up, and Myr said something like, "Oh, THAT'S what it is....")

It was a fun Boston gathering. [Smile]

Now it is time to sleep.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

[No No]
Bad Becca...leading on that poor young man....

Well, you will have to make it up to him.
I'll leave it up to you to decide how... [Evil]

Sorry I missed it! Let me know when you all are interested in a Six Flags trip. JenniK and I are buying season passes tommorrow.

Kwea

Posted by MyrddinFyre (Member # 2576) on :

Sleep? Bah [Smile]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

Hi myr! How's our waiter? Was he good?

Wait, did I say that out loud? [Dont Know]

[Razz]

We had a waitress this time. She didn't even have a funny accent! [Frown]

Posted by Dragon (Member # 3670) on :

[Frown] I'm sorry I missed it but things are a bit too hectic around here for me to be allowed to go to Boston...

Sounds like you had fun though!

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

So, yeah, Greg wants to know if you're single [Razz]

Posted by Dragon (Member # 3670) on :

you're not talking to me are you?

Posted by Paul Goldner (Member # 1910) on :

No. LoL. sorry. Beca [Smile]

Posted by Dragon (Member # 3670) on :

no, that's good... I was hoping you weren't

Posted by Beca (Member # 4340) on :

No - I'm not single. Flattered ( [Blushing] ), but not single.

I know of no appropriate way for someone who is not single to return the compliment, unfortunately.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

[ROFL]

I think you just did it, and quite well I might add!

Glad you all had fun...
