Voodoo Science: The Road from Foolishness to Fraud is a good book on the subject.

Sigh.

Apparantly Storm has an issue with either Phanto's or my link. Maybe he'll share...

I don't have an issue with your link.

Junkscience.com is well known to many people on Hatrack and Ornery. There have been many threads regarding that site. I'm sighing because...sometimes you just get tired of having the same arguments about the same things over and over again. I'm sorry. I know it's passive-agressive poo and I shouldn't say anything unless I feel like arguing. Which I really don't.

OK. Just checking.

I think that if you want talk about science without an agenda, junkscience is not the place to go.

Frankly, I've seldom seen science without an agenda...

Hmmm... most modern theories began as junk science. [Wink]

There's plenty of science without an agenda, or at least without a political agenda. What depth whales eat at and the particulars of string theory are neither democrat nor republican (or anything else on the politicial spectrum).

Since the particles of string theory lead one to believe that all sub-atomic particles are inherently equal in themselves, and despite their inate differences, work together in a unified way to create the universe, this is obviously a leftist college propaganda supporting Communism.

And of course we don't need to bother pointing out which political party whales are associated with. Melville didn't call it Moby Dick for nothing.

(I don't know what this means either.)

And those scientific studies you mention are not the ones that usually get lots of play in the mass media. Hence my comment.
