And she was really cool! After me being late and goobery, trying to find my friend who I was making come along and getting lost in traffic, we eventually got to go to the Minnesota Institute of Arts, where we looked at the Asian and Grecian art and I bored her with random tidbits. I was feeling very much the docent. We lost my friend and eventually got kicked out... We didn't get to see much, due to my lateness... ^_^;;
My friend left for home and then Cecily and I went to a restaurant near my school to eat. I had a sammitch and a banana shake, and Cecily had an ice cream sundae! We talked about Hatrack and dumb stuff and laughed a lot.
Then we went to a bookstore nearby and browsed around and talked about what bad sci-fi fans we were. I bought some comics and some other books and then we drove back to her hotel.
My impression: Cecily is a genuinely nice and happy person. She's also TALL! But she has a way of making you feel comfortable and not small at all. It was really easy for me to talk to her. Thank you for coming to meet me, Cecily! I had a great great time!

Aw, Abby, you're the best!! You made a thread!!
I have to add my "I love Abby" paragraph. First of all, Abby is brave to drive back and forth between two rather large cities just so she can meet me for a bit. I was impressed. I also loved Abby's very cool blue purse. The art institute was awesome and even moreso because it was FREE! I'll have you know that Abby is full of very interesting information and told me many historical bits and info pertinent to the artifacts which we were enjoying. It made the whole thing a lot more fun. I talked a few of my friends into going to check out the institute for themselves today, but they didn't have Abby with them, so I'm sure it wasn't as cool.
Abby also watched me snarf a rather large chocolate sundae without making snide comments. More bonus points . She was sweet and drove me all over and even back to my hotel when she had to be at work in less than an hour. She likes cool books, helps her mom indulge in the evident Star Trek addiction, and is very easy to giggle and have fun with.
And, did I mention that she's cute? Oh yes. She is CUTE.
I loved meeting YOU Abby and I will post pictures of our dual gorgeousness in the next week or so.
