She needs her sleep. She doesn't get nearly enough. And, for any of you who've been following along, work hasn't exactly allowed her a stress-free life lately.

So, any of you talking to her on AIM and enabling her to stay up to the wee hours of the morning, stop it! Last night she fell asleep on her couch with her contacts in! Ack! You don't want that, do you?!?

Any of you who are online, IM her and tell her to go to sleep. Any of you who are chatting with her, stop being an enabler and tell her to go to sleep. Any of you posting, don't respond to her after 12:30 am or so... she needs her sleep!

Last night I tried. And I was actually about to get on AIM -- but now I think I'd better not.

Jamie, GO TO SLEEP! You'll be more rested tomorrow. [Smile] Which will make your last day (this trip) with the Stalling One more fun, neh?

Actually, I'm home in NJ, now.

[Frown]

But, little miss sleepy head didn't get out of bed until 11 or so, this morning...

Oops. I just knew she had tomorrow off . . .
ok, revise the earlier post to read, "Which will make your last day of vacation more fun, neh?"

[Edit: The title of the picture thread should've tipped me off. [Blushing] ]

::gently swings pocket watch::

Mac, you're getting veeeery sleepy. Your eyelids are growing heavy. You have just enough energy left to take out your contacts and crawl into bed. Once there, you will sleep very soundly until five minutes before you had to get up, at which time you will spring from bed envigorated, full of energy, and inspired to respond to my email. [Wink]

OK, clearly Jamie stayed up too late last night. All I did was politely point out that now she has a bedtime, and she flipped me off!

Early morning (well, 11:00am anyway) crankiness is a clear sign of going to bed too late. Things to look out for: clothing stuffed under the door to block light.

I propose Mackillian's bedtime be set one hour earlier than already set. You may voice your support by an uplifted hand.

(that was just the finger, btw, not the entire hand. so there.)

I think anyone who would have any doubt what that was has never, ever posted to this forum [Razz]

Right now the vote stands one aye, zero nays. Better set your alarm! [Razz]

She tells me she has no willpower to make herself go to bed earlier...

Yet, Jamie can be one of the most obstinate and headstrong people I know...

...I think that will is just misdirected, neh?

I think Rakeesh is going about this all wrong. Mack is a bit, ah, shall we say stubborn? So trying to tell her what to do is doomed to failure.

Nope, what we need to do is install a remote-controlled knockout gas dispenser. [Big Grin]

Or, and this is just a thought, we could let her make her own decisions and just keep taunting her about them. [Evil]

What about ordering her to stay awake?

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

I'm not stubborn.

No, not at all...

I thought about that, Noemon. But she's a shrinky-dink, so I think she'd see through us. [Wink]

Besides, she might decide to actually LISTEN! And then where would we be? [Angst]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

SOL, that's what.

And I'm not a shrink YET.

And why aren't you on AIM?

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Exactly!

For simplicity's sake, I call all therapists, counselors, etc. "shrinky-dinks" -- mostly because I never remember the difference between psychologists and psychiatrists. (I mean, I know the difference, but I never remember which is which.)

As for AIM, sorry, no can do. Am leaving soon.

I suspect telling Jamie to go to bed earlier will have about the same effect as feyd telling me to get out of chat and do more work.

Posted by Rakeesh (Member # 2001) on :

Rakeesh might know that, and is simply breaking Jamie's proverbial cojones [Wink]

BTW, since when have you become a stalling cow? [Wink] [Razz]

Posted by StallingCow (Member # 6401) on :

Um... since I hit 999 posts with FlyingCow and haven't had time to write a Landmark? [Blushing]

Everyone remember, though, tonight. No talking to mack after midnight. [No No]

Yes, it's that time again. Time to tell mack to go to sleep.

Good point.

Edit the above to:

Yes, it's that time again. Time to ignore mack until she gets bored of the internet and goes to sleep on her own.

[Sleep]

Edit: This *was* in reply to a Theca post that was baleted. [Wall Bash]
