Isn't he cute, Stormie? He's smart enough to weave in and out of the mountains, avoiding the shearers for 6 years. That's pretty warped.

You wouldn't think something with the size and shape of a giant, mobile afro would be that adept at avoiding things.

How the heck did sheep survive without humans to shear them?
Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :
WOW! Once he gets all that taken off I bet he'll feel like he can fly!

And deep inside all of that fur, they will find not a sheep, but the Taco Bell chihuahua!

They didn't. Non-domestic sheep-like animals shed their coats, if I'm not mistaken. The domestic sheep has been bred by humans to produce a coat that must be shorn (stronger, longer fibers=better wool for yarn, etc.)

PSI, one of the New Zealand articles notes that another shepharder has saved a chunk of wool he took from a ewe who'd avoided being sheared for seven years. She was described as "stumbling" and "pretty blind" from the wool in her eyes.
After all, she'd been on the lam for a long time.

Baa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aack off, Storm. Knives are not necessary.

The shear audacity of your puns is really amazing.
Posted by ClaudiaTherese (Member # 923) on :

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

Let's cut this off right at the root. Such a hairy situation requires much more delicacy, people.
Posted by Storm Saxon (Member # 3101) on :
Hey, flock ewe.
Posted by ClaudiaTherese (Member # 923) on :
I need to ruminate on this for awhile.
Posted by Storm Saxon (Member # 3101) on :
Well, hurry up. If you wait too long, I think there's going to be a muttony on Hatrack.

I hate coming upon a pun thread after all the good puns have been taken! I'd just steal somebody else's, but if I got caught I'd have to go on the lamb.
Ha! Am I a card or what?
Posted by ClaudiaTherese (Member # 923) on :
You've obviously been shorn of all responsibility for good sense, Noemon. Hoof it on outta here, you wool-gatherer.
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
I herd that!
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
Why are you telling me to leave? I refuse to be treated like a crook!
Posted by Bob the Lawyer (Member # 3278) on :
Look out, Noemon, CT's leading you astray.
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
Don't worry Bob--I felt that she might try that, so I was ready for her.
Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :
My head is spinning.
Posted by Bob the Lawyer (Member # 3278) on :
All I'm saying is she's a wolf in sheep's clothing.

This is really Aussome! Bendigo Woolen Mills is a great source of wool for knitters worldwide. They have great prices and free shipping. Australia rocks!
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
If we're on our guard against her, though, she'll have a hard time fleecing any of us.
Posted by celia60 (Member # 2039) on :
In spite of all you naturally colorful posters, I keep wanting this thread to dye.
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
Despite what she'd have you think, celia has her punning chops.
Posted by Koga (Member # 5646) on :
Wow, I bet that sheep is going to feel so cold when it loses all that extra isullation. You just klnow after this shearing he is going to be so embarrassed I bet all the sheap ladies really dig the guys who can avoid being sheared. I feel for the guy, especially as I am so often tol;d to get a haircut, and shave.
*hides from crazy shearing people*
Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :
Well, I ram into this thread a little later than the rest of the flock. So wool that's left is really baahhd puns.
Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :
Huh. Well, sndrake, most of those puns had alredy been made, so if you were trying to take a shot at the people who originally made them by calling them baaaad, I expect you at least grazed them.
Okay, that one was a stretch, but how else would you work "graze" into the thread?
Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :
Sheesh. How about trying to be a little more grazecious to someone just rambling onto the thread and yarning to join in?
Posted by Storm Saxon (Member # 3101) on :
you just know that wherever Bob is, he feels...something.... wait? what's that! pun senses! tingling!
