Would you like to see Eminem, Avril Lavigne, Billy Joel, Nelly, the Backstreet Boys and Bob Dylan perform live? Good news: You only have to buy one ticket. "Weird Al" Yankovic is coming to town.
The hard-rockin', accordion-playin' master of musical parody will be performing Wednesday night, bringing the 2004 edition of his "Poodle Hat" tour to Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center in Daytona Beach to promote his latest album and the new release of his DVD "Weird Al Yankovic: The Ultimate Video Collection."

Unfortunately, due to space limitations, the necessity of including bio information for new listeners, and the necessary inclusion of news about his parents, I couldn't use very much of my interview with him. Sigh. I still have my memories...

quote: Yankovic, 44, narrowly avoided a career in architectural design
love that line!
The article was great, Chris! I thought the headline was a little lame, but I know at most papers, the writers don't get to choose the headlines...

I think my original was "Time for Daytona Beach to get 'Weird'" or something like that. The print edition used "ALIEN INVASION" over the worst photo I've ever seen in our paper, a blown-up and badly pixelated closeup of Al's face. Yeesh. But they didn't edit my article much so I can't complain
