Yeah, I know, the oldtimers are likely getting tired of these, but I just returned from a two-year Hatrack hiatus, and I don't know who half of you people are! So.....

I've been here just over a year. I never stop talking (but then, if you looked at my post count, you already knew that [Wink] ), although I do try hard to listen too.

I am a divorced mother of three, I recently turned 30, and I am an Orthodox Jew. I live in the City of Angels. [Big Grin] Come fall, I'll be going back to teaching high school science.

Nice ta meetcha! [Smile]

Hi Elder Yank. [Smile] Welcome back.

I'm Katie. I graduated from Utah State in English, am LDS, and currently live in Dallas, contemplating grad school and taking classes and test and applying but being slightly too committment-phobic to commit to one yet.

I have a Con and all Hatrack men are crazy about me, including Caleb.

Howdy Yank! Is that sn a verb or a noun?

I'm 33, just finishing my first year of law school. Between undergrad and law school, I was a partner/CTO in an information technology consulting firm. I'm getting married July 31, even though my fiance lives and works in Northern Virginia and I go to school 2 hours away in Charlottesville.

Oh, and I met someone today who was in Geoff's dorm when he was in college.

Hi - I'm Annie. I was around at the dawn of Hatrack's creation, but only returned to regular posting about a year ago.

I'm a senior at Montana State majoring in Graphic Design and French and minoring in Art History and I incessantly babble about all of those topics, plus whatever else I think myself an expert in. I'm LDS and I have a soft spot in my heart for socialists. I like to cook and travel and listen to obnoxious music that's not in English.

Hi!
I'm Jaiden.

I remember you around before you left- we chatted a few times too (in hatrack chat).

Hmmm... a bit about me....
I am Canadian.
I am attending culinary school at present, but once this is over I'm going to do something different- as much as I love to cook and bake, I need something more intellectual (there isn't anything wrong with it, of course, it's just not me). At present I'm thinking of being a dietician or going into genetics... but it seems to change every week or so [Wink]
I am dating Pod/Ted (who rarely posts now; so only the "old timers" probably reconize him).
I am Roman Catholic.

So, Yank....where were you for the last 2 years? (Everyone but me apparently already knows, and for those too embarrassed to ask, the newby is always willing [Smile] )

Posted by Valentine014 (Member # 5981) on :

Hi Yank. I wanted to ask you in chat what your MSN name is, but you keep getting kicked out, because this is AIM we are talking about here.

I, Valentine, have been visting Hatrack for over a year and half or so. I only started posted recently.

Since everyone is making a point to mention their religion, I'll tell you all that I'm in the process of converting to Judaism.

I live in Omaha, NE. I am a sometimes college student, going to be a nurse someday and want to make sure everyone knows that Xavier is coming to visit me on MAY 6!!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. If I spoke Floridian, I would now converse with you in your neonative language...oh well.

[Group Hug]

Posted by Yank (Member # 2514) on :

Valentine- yeah, AIM is the devil. I haven't got an MSN name now because I haven't a computer right now. I have to use the library. Doh!

newby- I speak Northern Floridian, which is a dialect of Deep Southern. I also speak the English dialect often known as Ebonics. Also I picked up un poquito del español on my mission.

It's amazing the things you learn!

*grin*

Hi, Yank, I seem to be the only one who doesn't remember you. You must have been posting when I was fairly inactive.

I also post as aka or ana kata.

I'm LDS, live in Alabama, work as an electrical engineer, am 46 years old, and I've been hanging around hatrack since 1997, I think.

Welcome back! Tell us about your mission. Was it a wonderful experience for you? I want to go on one someday. I'm a convert (3 years ago -- a hatrack convert) so naturally didn't go when I was young.

Hello, Yank.

I'm littlemissattitude, sometimes known as lma. I got here a year ago last January. I'm currently living in Central California but I'm a SoCal native. I'm 47 and I have a BA in Intercultural Studies, and so naturally cannot find a job. [Smile] So, since I've got time on my hands I'm writing a book about the Baby Boomer generation - naturally, since I am a Boomer myself.

This is the closest thing to a A/S/L thread that I've seen survive this long. Wowie.

edit to add: I don't LIKE Tucson, I just live here. I should have worded that differently.

As you can tell, my name is Nick. [Smile] Original screen name, don't you think? [Wink] I have been here for almost two years. I joined as "Wetchik" back in June of 2002 and switched to Nick because people misunderstood the name. You can call me "Wet Nick" if you find it absolutely necessary. [Razz] [Big Grin] [Wave]

I also love music and cooking and writing. In my heart, I long to be a poet. There! The truth is out. I am twenty years old.

My name is Imogen, and I'm Australian. I'm 21, almost 22. I'm engaged to Scythrop (Tony) and at the moment we're both at university - I'm in my last year of 5 year law degree and Tony has just started his Phd in creative writing.

Tony is a author, and though he doesn't like to brag about it here, he's pretty good. He's got 4 books published and another one is coming out in July this year. We like the royalties. [Smile] Tony's books. The biog is going to be changed - it only makes sense in the context of his latest book, which is for little kids.

We both joined up about the same time ago - I guess coming up on a year. I post more than Tony, but not nearly as much as other people.

I think people are finally understanding my odd sense of humour. At least, some of them. Sometimes.

I got involved with Hatrack because of how much I enjoy reading Uncle Orson Reviews Everything and War Watch.

Nice to meet you Yank! I was on my mission when you left on yours and was pretty much a lurker before I left, so I didn't know many people back then. [Smile] (Btw, where did you serve?)

I'm a 25 year old female from Portland, OR...I'm graduating in two months with my B.A. in Music and I'm starting grad school to get my M.Ed. I want to conduct choir and teach music history. I have a wicked classical music CD collection...and there really are a lot of other weird facts about me. You'll just have to ask everyone else.

Welcome back!! [Smile]

My name is Rob Brill, and I am a 34 year old male who is married to a woman named Jenni, who also posts occasionally on Hatrack as JenniK. Some times I answer to kiwi, but it depends on who says it....

We live in MA now, and Jenni is attending UMASS as a senior, with a Spanish major and a Japanese minor. She also speaks fluent French and Italian, as well as American Sign Language.

I am currently working at JC Penney selling Mens Suits. I spent 3 years in the US Army, at USAMRIID, and was a medic with his NR-EMT certification.

I have been posting or lurking here for about three years, so I think I remember you, but not your leaving on mission,

Hi there!

I'm ElJay, I'm 30, I live in Minneapolis and spend my free time reading, remodeling my house, and cooking. And, um, on the Internet.

In my not-free time I am middle-management scum for a giant telecommunications company.

I got here because I am dkw's little sister and maid of honor in her upcoming nuptials, and she kept sending me links. I seem to be staying.

So very pleased to meet you.

punwit! Since when did we get another Kansan on this forum without me knowing about it?

Yank--
I joined Hatrack last fall. My real name is Tracy, but per my screen name, I truly am a Kansas farmgirl (yeah, we have horses and chickens and everything).

I'm a 43-year-old single mother of three kids who are 18, 16 and 14. I work in network technical support for a regional bank.

I'm not a mormon, but am very familiar with the lds religion because I almost converted to it several years back (yes, I still have my Book of Mormon). (If your "mission" was in Kansas, you very well may have talked to me!) :-)I'm a fundamentalist Christian at this time.

And, of course, most importantly I'm a huge OSC book fan.

But since there are some of us that are new -- isn't it only fair that YOU also post this type of bio, since we don't know you yet? All I have been able to figure out is that you are a Utah Mormon, just returned from a mission trip (somewhere where they speak Spanish, I think) and you are at this time unemployed. right? Is your photo on Foobonic?

Farmgirl

edit: I got my own age wrong! Forgot about that birthday last month....
