but I'm starting school again and am actually excited about it!!!! I had been in school full-time for the last four years before my recent 5 month break due to our move. However, I'm going to start taking some online courses through Indiana University. This will be great b/c it's always been so difficult to be on campus somewhere with being a mom and wife. Woo hoo for higher education!!!

I think I'm going to take colonial history first. IU has a great selection of on-line courses. I'm kind of lucky in the respect that all of the credits that I have left to complete are electives. I've already got everything for my fine arts requirements and english degree.

I work with a couple of people who are re-enactors. One concentrates on the fur trade era (Barbara) and the other (David) does various time periods but usually military, I think.

Anyway, Barbara is not pleased with this latest series. She thinks the people are not living up to 17th century standards ... I don't think they would pass in re-enacting circles. [Wink]

edited to add: sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread ... I should have addressed the going-back-to-school thing - good for you Space Opera. I like going back to school and may do so, myself, this fall ... if I can get financial aid.

Just for the record, I won't be re-enacting colonial history, just studying it. But, when I finish the course I might dress up in a period outfit just to celebrate.

edit: no problem; I thought it was funny

I mentioned to Barbara that I didn't think I could do Colonial House for a couple of reasons ... and dang if I can remember what they were! [Dont Know] Honestly ... my brain is fried. I must get some sleep. (note time of post)

If I figure out what I said earlier, I'll post it here - unless I completely forget (quite possible). Sorry.

okay, one of the reasons was that I don't drink alcohol. this lead David (other co-worker who is also a re-enactor) to say I can hang with him anytime - he wants my share.

Can't remember the other one, but I am coming up with more reasons:

No internet
too much work
No chocolate!!!

I think that last reason speaks for itself.

Raia, yes online, silly. However, we come to Indiana quite often. How about planning some kind of meeting for this summer for all the Hatrackers in the area?
