Do you ever wonder how sex ed at Hogwarts would work? Thinking back to my own school years....
One day, without warning, the second years are seperated by gender. The witches are taken down to the greenhouses, where Prof Sprout talks to them about the properties of red raspberry leaf, cramp bark, and a variety of other herbs, plus a side lesson on use of the calendar. The wizards-hmm- tough call, but I'm guessing Prof Binn, after all, who else could make sex so boring the boys lose interest?
Maybe I was up too late reading Harry Potter last night. I need coffee.

edit for spelling.

As Ron would say...that's brilliant!

Honestly, it is a great question, too. Her kids are at the ripe old age of 16 now and while they have definitely done some of the dating game...they haven't done Health class!! I love Binns teaching it.

Well, we did have the kids stroking those tubers in the 4th book...kind of phallic. Maybe Prof. Sprout will say something like, "Remember the tubers? Its like that. Move along, move along."

Oh, and we did have Harry playing with his wand under the covers in this movie, too... [Big Grin]

We don't even know that witches and wizards even have intercourse. Who's to say that the wizard doesn't just, err, point his wand at the witch's womb and say a spell to impregnate her?

[edit: which is very close to our way, where the guy says some special words, and the woman lets him point his wand at her.]

Yeah, imagine that conversation with your parents.

"Dad, where do babies come from."
"Ask your mother."
"Mom, where do babies come from."
"Uh... magic."

Can you imagine how much trouble that could get everyone into? A trickster or two and every girl in the vacinity could be pregnant. What would stop girls from saying the spell?

*brain explodes*

I'm sure there'd be a morning-after spell.

But how would you know? Would there be some sort of immediate warning system? O.o

Frisco I'm assuming since some wizards and witches intermarry with muggles, they have intercourse.

Theres probably some form of magical contraception they use.

*shakes head*

Why are we even having this conversation?!

Posted by Frisco (Member # 3765) on :

Because we're worried that Hermoine might be knocked up by the seventh book if Ron doesn't learn how to control himself!

Someone wrote sex ed fic. It was hilarious. I will find when I get home.

*snicker* I want to see the fic xnera mentioned. Meanwhile, there's this one.

I had read about half of that fanfic about a year ago, it is amazing, or really good for my very tired brain. Thanks Rivka

You know what I always wondered? What if a boyfriend or girlfriend took each other's polyjuice potion to turn into each other and then partied hardy? Makes me think of a Gaiman short story... Also, celebrity hair would be worth ridiculous amounts of money on the black market. I mean, what man wouldn't want to be Brad Pitt for an hour or two? What woman wouldn't want to be Monica Bellucci?

It shows up in fic from time to time. Other, um, sexual spells are more common, though.

Sadly, I am not sure I will be able to find the exact one. I found this, but I'm not sure that's the one I originally read. I am pretty sure the one I read *was* Snape teaching the class, but there was also another one of the girls being taught by someone (I wanna say either Trelawney or McGonagall). This must've been several years ago, though, so it's hard to track down. The one I linked above kinda feels like it, but it's not nearly as funny as I recall it being.

Very common theme in fanfic, actually. I mean, there's Cassie Claire's Polyjuice Brothel, to start. And I just read a lovely Polyjuice fic (and a sequel) that I very much enjoyed, but I can't link to it as this is a family board and the fic is NOT.
